It was a coincidence that they were another local band.

I should add that this same son who is now almost 30, has come to at least 1 show per tour with us ever since then. He's still a fan.
My son who is 25, and my daughter 22 each come to at least one show with us as well. it's great having Bon Jovi a family affair. I like to take the credit that I raised them well.

Wow! I thought you were a long time fan. You seem to know so much in such a short time. You're an expert now. It took me years to know all their music. I knew them since Prayer, but my kids really got me into them since Crush. Now I'm crazier over them than they are.

I'm hardly an expert, Eileen, but I'm working on it. Of course, studying Bon Jovi has been a lot more fun than any class I took in school! LOL I have no idea what switch flipped in my brain that caused all this. I have never been into music before, much less obsessed with one particular band. I've been calling it my mid-life crisis, and that probably isn't too far off. Oh well, I guess it's cheaper than a convertible! Although . . . blasting Jovi while driving a convertible sounds like more fun than while driving my minivan! Hmmmm . . .

It started when I was 1 or 2. I can remember "Play school guitaring" as a little baby to Blaze of Glory on MTV back when MTV played music videos.

Then as I grew up, I hadn't really listened to music in quite some time. So 2000 comes and I am about to go to my Hockey tryouts and It's My Life comes on. I see its by Bon Jovi(Im like cool, an 80's band still around, I remember Prayer). Like the song. Go to hockey tryouts and forget the awesomeness that was the song

So about a year later I am at one of my hockey games and during stoppages they were playing music. Hear IML again. Make it a mission to find out more about this band. So I go to Amazon and sample the songs. Thank You For Loving Me draws me in. Run out and by Crush right then. So TECHNICALLY that is the song that got me hooked, along with IML.

All the while I am buying the older albums I fail to realize that a newer studio album(Bounce) has been released since. I don't think I got that till a couple months before HAND came out.

I remember being 9 years old and hearing always on the radio. I was a kid who was having his first crush/broken heart moment. Anyway I got hooked on that song, then about a few days after I first heard always they wer having a Bon Jovi special on that station where they played just Bon Jovi for one hour. When I first heard prayer, right after the solo when the key change kicks in I was like "whoa I have to learn to sing and play music!!!" then I began bothering my mom to buy me aguitar endlessly after that.

And the rest they say, is history!

A much-missed friend played me a selection around IML time, including Someday I'll Be Saturday Night, and that song just grabbed me by the balls and took me into the toilets for a line of coke and a handjob - hooked for life
