Who is the person singing in the background? The twang on the word "bone" always annoyed me and I could never figure out who that is.

Sounds like Dave and/or Alec to me, but could've been some session musicians Jon might've used every now and then as well.

I don't think it's anyone in the band but what's interesting to me is, the fact that Jon had a guy come in just to sing that part on a demo.

I always thought it was Dave and still do. One of the few post-85 songs he co-wrote.
