I'd bet many teenagers deprive themselves of music they like because their friends take the piss out of them, so they end up listening to stuff they don't like instead.
people in general deprive themselves of good music because they're ignorant halfwits.

one of my favourite tunes ever is pachel belle's canon, at the same time busted are in my stereo and i'm goign to see them next week.

i'll listen to just about anything under the sun providing i think it's good and if you don't like it then that's not my problem.

I used to be a little ****wit that thought eh radiohead suck balls and anything my dad listens to must be crap, then i actually listened without being biased and it opened up alot of music to me that i wouldn't have heard. people need to do that more often and that includes alot of folk on here.

Lotsa young people (not the chart-oriented ones....) deprive themselves of BJ cos they see them only as moneymaking machine. That not being completely wrong view either.

I know exactly eh point your tryign to make.

But if you're not going to listen to music because it's commercial (it's the music business not the music charity) then you're a fool.

not reffering to you specifically here but you're not the most open minded chap when it comes to music either.

LOL I do consider myself being open minded, forming my own opinion on things heard not the charts. Yes in fact there are some good things going round the charts. I think it's more complex than just chart success. But there's also lotsa stuff giogn aruodn that is poorly cooked-up and it shines through that it's only made for quick cash.

U do have a good point with not listening to commercial music. I think everything deserves a chance. Its not dificult to take a quick listen before judging something. But yes there are lotsa so-called true musicfans who just won't tounch anything that is a commercial success.

Jovi...is a different matter. Most of us around here know their history, and compare new releases to old ones. We see the difference, that's all there is to it. Some is better than the other, same thing with everything. We can always go back to our fav era. But some "new" people get a glimpse of their most commercial shite & put the rest of it aside based on few singles. I have always thought that best of jovi lies beneath them singles. But hey, we all have/ should have ones own opinion

2)You like Bon Jovi? Oh My God that's SO sad! It's not the Eighties anymore, nobody likes Grandad music!
3)Why the Hell do you like them? Bon Jovi are so over, it's not even funny!
4)You like that Colombian sl*t? Go to South America and some weed with the rest of the Latino freaks!
But you know what? I don't care. Seriously. Cos at least I don't just listen to whatever is "in" right now. Life's to short to worry what other people think. I also believe that if people have time to make fun of other people, then they've got way too much time
well...you desreve it!

I don't know...It seems I am surrounded only by Bon jovi fans or at least "likers" these days. There was a time(It's My Life days)when Bon Jovi were THE POP band around. But it seems people have pretty much forgotten that days and when I say I/ we are Bon Jovi fans everybody's kind of: "Blaze of Glory...what a great song."...well...it's JBJ, still it's only positive things I hear.

It always amazes me when one person puts another down because of a popular music taste. I think it's lame. I personally don't socialize with people who do that.
