Actually, this got me thinking. Is there something like an index of all officially released Jovi (tour) t-shirts anywhere?

I would, but I'd rather leave it here as evidence that alcohol is bad for your mental faculties

Hah! Indeed, I've been in Charlie Sheen mode the last couple of months ...not good, not good.

I know this somewhat off topic, Jovi-wise, but has anyone picked up the Blu Ray release of this concert? I bought it a couple of months ago as it includes all the content that was on the original VHS and is in 4:3, unlike the 2002 DVD which is missing the entire first half of the concert and is cropped to 16:9.

I know it's a standard def Blu Ray so I wasn't expecting any massive improvement on the picture quality (it was shot in PAL video by the BBC originally) but it seems to have been "filmized" and I think it looks worse. I watched it on my Philips BDP5000 and on my PS3 on the highest settings and it still looks bad. Really pixelated. I'm wondering is it worth investing in the new DVD release instead?

I actually picked up the Blu Ray release a few months ago as well. I avoided the 2002 DVD knowing that it was missing much of the show.

I know what you mean as far as the image quality, but I think it is what it is. I doubt you will see improvement with the DVD release since when it comes down to it, the main reason for the Blu Ray is the benefit of not needing to swap discs as you will with the DVD release. I'm just happy that the original VHS release has been preserved. They are pushing it trying to upscale it to 1080. I actually downscale it back to 480 so that it is in the size it was originally filmed in so it looks good that way. Small screen for sure, but that's how it was shot.

Apparently the original plan for this recent release was to restore much more of the show than what was even on the VHS release... such as Def Leppard's Animal and Let's Get Rocked.

Thanks for the reply.

I could try downscaling to 480p just to see the outcome. But like I say, they've "filmized" it by dropping the odd frame here and there to make it look like it was shot on film when it wasn't. I have (what I believe is) a laserdisc-rip DVD version which looks great, even full screen on my 42" TV. Standard def, naturally, but a very solid natural picture. Just as if you're watching a live TV broadcast. I was hoping I would retire that in favour of the Blu Ray but it looks like I'll be holding on to it. The swapping of discs does not bother me at all. I just wanted (like you say) a preservation of the VHS/laserdisc release.

I just wondered if the new DVD version had this same issue. If not then THAT would be the best version for me.
