He was in the video, yah. But no. Even he said he didn't play on those two tracks.

I don't know if it was ever formally posted online or if it's been posted here or what but someone typed it up. The infamous interview.

I guess no-one will ever really know unless Jon and Alec come out together, say "this" happened and everyone's moved on and all is forgiven. But no-one will ever know

i don't recall alec stating he never played on the crossroad tracks. he stated he wouldn't be playing on the next bon jovi album, meaning these days. also a while back i posted an interview in which jon stressed that alec did play on the earlier albums.

Eye opening quote there on that link from Alec;
Quote:
Does Alec think that Bon Jovi have got out of control?
“I don’t really think so,” such says cautiously.“But what I intended it to be and what Jon wanted are two different things. I wanted to have fun, but then those guys wrote a hit song, and now there is so much pressure to keep having hit songs. I’ve always felt that you write a song and *others*(originally in cursive print) will tell you it’s a hit, you don’t write a song to be a hit and tell everyone,‘This is a hit song’.

Therein lies the problem with the post 2000 stuff i think.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

I think that's the problem with Alec, personally. He became a lazy twat after having some success.

Why are we even still talking about the guy? He was in the band for less amount of time than Hugh has been. Now, if only Hugh could start looking like he was playing for a rock band instead of a fill-in on a Michael Bolton tour, we'd be all set.

Regarding Alec playing on the Crossroad songs, I'm watching the boxset DVD right now (just got it from a friend as a late birthday present) and when someone told the band they had the #1 single with Always, the whole band got up in celebration and high-fived each other, including Alec. Just food for thought.

Hi,

I am the guy who wrote that line about Alec in Wikipedia. It came from an interview with Kevin 'Caveman' Shirley, the sound engineer on the Cross Road tracks. The interview can be found in The Bon Jovi Encyclopaedia by Neil Daniels.

That's besides the point. It's an unbiased source confirming something.
