I still stick to this

collaborations:

with david bryan, high mcdonald and tico torres

I'd rather they worked with the other members in the band before they start working with other artists whom I don't think would share the same chemistry

Jon Bon Jovi on his own or in collaboration it just doesn't matter. Jon Bon Jovi is the greatest songwriter ever. Has no one on this board ever listened to the Blaze of Glory album? or Keep the Faith album which Jon wrote half of on his own? or songs like Wild In The Streets, Living In Sin, Something To Believe In, Always etc etc etc

Desmond child's cd pretty much sucks. I was surprised by this due to all the awesome songs he co-wroted; but it got me to thinking he was writing with artists like Jon Bon Jovi, Steven Tyler, Paul Stanley etc etc etc all artists who've written awesome songs on thieir own; or in different collaborations without Desmond. Another thing was the cds Desmond cowrote on, he only did 2 or 3 songs; and those albums as a whole were killer. ie New Jersey, Pump, Hot In The Shade.

Desmond and any other outside writers are not the main writers, they just do a little sprinkling here and there. I mean Max Martin tells Jon about a drum loop for the song It's My Life and he gets a co-write credit for that??? it doesn't take much to get a co-write change a lyric here add a lyric there.

Aldo Nova's songs are not that great; and then he writes an album with Jon and boom the cd kicks major ass. Billy Falcon's solo cds are pretty good; but the best songs he's written are the one's he wrote with Jon. Jon's solo cds I give both 10 out of 10, Richie's solo cds I give the first one 7/10 and the second one 5/10.

Whoever said David Bryan , Hugh Macdonald, Tico Torres must be on pills, these guys have very little or no songwriting ability. leave the songwriting to Jon and Richie; with some sprinklings here and there from outside writers.

Jon or Jon and Richie will write the meat and guts of the songs; as they always have and always will. That's how it should be, amen brother.

David did colaborations with Jon on the first two CDs. Although some were sub-par (Love Lies) he helped out with some good ones (Only Lonely). He also co-wrote In These Arms with Jon and Richie.

I can't say anything about Tico and Hugh because Tico only helped out with Secret Dreams and Hugh co-wrote nothing. Maybe they aren't much on songwriting and that's why they don't write the songs.

You're right about the songwriters but HITS a killer album? Hardly.

True, but that's how it works. Jon has said that he will give co-writing credit to anyone who's in the room when they write a song.

How would you know? David has written two albums and two musicals on his own, plus some Bon Jovi songs. Lovi Lies, Breakout, Only Lonely, Hardest Part Is The Night, I Don't Wanna Fall, In These Arms... And you have to remember that each member composes his own parts, so as for David, he's written most of the keyboard parts. Not to mention intros like Pink Flamingos and LYHOM.

well said Ice - i like it when we agree

Tico is actually a great drummer too - a real 80s drummer - hits the drums as hard as he can all night and Dave has shown he can play the keyboards on songs such as Let It Rock and Homebound Train as well as when they used to cover songs such as Travellin' Band...

I'd rather JBJ and RS looked to their own band members first... I think if they actually did (even just) one album as a "band" it would be one of their best albums

I would like to see David as a part of the songwriting team. I mean he has co-wroted good songs with Richie ( Stranger In This Town, Fallen From Graceland & If God Was A Woman) so he must have some ability to write good songs. And of course, he was one of the guys who wrote "In These Arms".

Critics actually like David's solo album "Lunar Eclipse". They say that it is very mature piece of classical music. I think Lunar Eclipse shows Dave at his best, he really is a good musican and a composer.David's Lunar Eclipse is one of the best instrumental albums I've heard.

I don't agree with you but we all have our opinions.
