getting called out over Bon Jovi

I completely agree with everything rainsong as said. Couldnt of put it better. If you have an argument put it forward rationally with some facts backing it up. Dont go off on a teenage tantrum bender.

I don't thnk this thread is so much about seb but he is being used as the example.

Many of us have been with this band for 20 plus years.. yes we were actually born back then and NO we are not in it for the bands looks. I can tell you a person doesn't stick with a band for that long based on looks.

People often think this board and it's post are somehow above Backstage posts. As a member of both I can tell you this board has some complete inane crap and some sensible posts.. the exact same could be said of backstage.

I love this band and make no apologies for it at all. I feel no need to and why should I? Do I think this love makes them above criticism? No I don't and if I feel a song is ripping off their own cliches I will say so, but at the same time I will say what I love. I will allow for albums I don't particularly like. Just because a hanful of people think TLFR is shit doesn't actually mean it really is. Just because I think HAND (the song) is very similiar to me in themes to "Thats my life" doesn't mean its fact its not so great.. just my opinion.

As for the whole set list thing I really dont know what people expect. You do realise most bands are still playing those 90 minute shows as oppposed to the 2-3 hours you guys have been getting.

I live in Oz and as you all know here and many other parts of the world get jack shit these days in the way of Jovi.. so try that on for a set list. Y ou have been getting the best the guys have to give.. take it or leave it. Figure out whether you are a fan of the band any more and take action from there. If Bon Jovi is no longer your cup of tea voice wise or live wise or album wise maybe its time to move on and cut your losses. You can't forever look back through rose coloured glasses at the oh so rock n roll days. I think the thing is is to mix the criticisms with the praise. Find what is good with them that you love and work with that most of the time.

Right. That's why this thread was posted as some sort of answer to his review. That's why his name is constantly mentioned. And that's why people even bother to come up with psychological reasons for him calling them backstagers :S

So he mentioned rainsong so she is replying to him. He makes his call on other fans so other can certainly return the favour can't they. His name may of been mentioned etc but like he said he is the example being used. Its get old when someone harps on and on about people being backstagerish if they happen to like anything BJ does. I am all for constructive criticism and Seb and everyone else are entitled to their reviews and I usually find a mix of good and bad in them. But just remember everyone else is also allowed their thoughts about things. We all have opinions and they all quite often seem to differ. A different opinion doesnt make someone a backstager and wrong. It just makes it a different view point.

I personally replied in the thread cause I am sick of certain DC people somehow thinking they are the "serious" fans and others are BJ ass kissers when quite simply its obvious this is not the case. Theres good and bad on both boards.
