Cause I remember thinking it would have been nice if they could have just done their hits for the crowd instead of playing a new song to try and promote their album.
i opened a thread a few weeks ago on that very topic, arguing that they shouldnt have used an event like that as a chance to promote their new stuff, but nobody else agreed with me. Most people argued that it was good enough of them to give up their time to play, but that is a pile of BS. Any band worth their salt would be their in a second to experience playing to a worldwide audience in my opinion. Thats not to say Bon Jovi were the only band to play new material, alot of others did.

This is the one thing I truly hate about events like this. Lets use a crap load of resources, pollute the environment and tell everyone else to be good
I s'pose they told people they couldn't eat or drink at either Live Aid or Live 8 too.

you have got that right, I sat on the beach today here in the UK in FEBRUARY !!!!!!!!!!!

I think the concert is a good idea and will help Jon with his political career

Do you think Jon will have a lot of say in this event saying as he is big buddies with Gore?? Will he play the role that Bono played in the Live8 campaign?? I certainly think so. I also believe that Bon Jovi will be billed as one of the major acts, unlike in Live8 when U2, Coldplay, Pink Flloyd, The Who, Robbie Williams, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Madonna etc where the most talked about and advertised performers??

Am I the ONLY person on this board who thinks the global warming being caused by humans is ballocks? There is typically an everybody to three ratio of libs to conservatives. Anyway, got the following in my e-mail inbox (as I am sure all of you did). Would still love to go to see just to see Bon Jovi.

BON JOVI TO PERFORM AT LIVE EARTH!

Bon Jovi will perform at the LIVE EARTH concert on July 7th, 2007! The concert will be part of Save Our Selves (SOS) – The Campaign for a Climate in Crisis.

From The Official SOS Press Release:
"SOS is designed to trigger a global movement to combat our climate crisis. It will reach people in every corner of the planet through television, film, radio, the Internet and Live Earth, a 24-hour concert on 7/7/07 across all 7 continents that will bring together more than 100 of the world's top musical acts. Live Earth alone will engage an audience of more than 2 billion people through concert attendance and broadcasts. MSN has partnered with SOS to use its reach to make the Live Earth concerts available across the globe.
The Live Earth audience, and the proceeds from the concerts, will create the foundation for a new, multi-year global effort to combat the climate crisis led by The Alliance for Climate Protection and its Chair, Vice President Al Gore. SOS was founded by Kevin Wall, who
won an Emmy as Worldwide Executive Producer of Live 8."

I don't see how the direct scientific relationship shown over the last 40 years between CO2 levels and the earths temperature can be disputed, but that's just me.

Yes, sad but true. If they don't feel the impact on there day to day life, they can easily just sit back and ignore the facts and do nothing.
