I was just gonna say that, Sambo-Chris. I'm not exactly sure how "goth" HIM really is, I consider them less "goth" than The 69 Eyes for example... But I know that at least Ville and Mige (their bassist) have been listening to Bon Jovi since the 80s. And I also know that HIM have been asked to support Bon Jovi at least twice now, but they've had to decline the offer because of scheduling conflicts.

I also found this..."I don't consider us a heavy rock or metal band anymore like in the beginning. We are a rock band, but we also have a certain pop appeal. We're a negative version of Bon Jovi. Lyricswise, too. Bad things are good and good things are bad. We wanted to call the album "Slippery when dead", but then we thought it's too tactless. We don't want to be seen as necrophile. At least not now!" Then he's laughing.
In an interview with Ville.

and this...

Resurrection
"And here's a third song with strong 80th influences. It's an older one. It sounds like, Bon Jovi has mutated to a Gothic-Band . However this comparison refers more to the original version of the song. At least this camparision gaves us a temporary title of the album, which we then did not use however:'Slippery when dead'."

Right Here In My Arms
"It's reminiscent of Billy Idol and even Bon Jovi. I've composed this song after the completion of the first album. That means anytime in 1997. The 80th feeling is inescapably audibly. A kind of Gothic-Party-anthem."

And one time he gave an interview for MTV and after it he was asked which clip he'd like to see. His answer was "Bon Jovi - 'Wanted dead or alive'"
