Talking I agree

I agree with all the comments about the grammy, but this is the only award that bon jovi needs to feel the gallery.

This isn't their first nomination, and they haven't exactly won this one, heh.

Yah it would be pretty shitty if their first(and chances are, only) Grammy comes from a country song. But they've never exactly been a band to get any sorts of accolades anyway. Outside of Jon for BOG, they have never gotten much, if any, critical recognition.

You know if they win this we will probably never see another rock album from them again.

Yeah - that is what I'm afraid of.
On the other hand - they have won a bunch of other awards - other than Grammys and it doesn't seem to have gone to their heads. I guess we will just have to see.

I also hate the idea of the only Grammy (if they win) being for a country song. I thought Becky's comment about the singing crab was great though. How could you take any of it seriously once you've been beaten by a singing crab

I don't think that Jon and Richie respect the idea of the Grammy Awards enough for them to allow a win or loss to sway them in one direction or another. I'm not snubbing Tico and Dave by signaling out Jon and Richie. Jon and Richie do the writing, so they dictate the direction of the music.

Bon Jovi has sold 120 million CDs and barely been nominated. I bet they are much more appreciative of that CMT Award that fans voted on than they ever would be of a Grammy. At least, that's the way I read them. I don't think they're stupid or unprofessional enough to snub the Grammy should they win it, but I don't think it really matters to them. If you asked Jon if he'd rather win the People's Choice Award or the Grammy, he'd say the People's Choice Award.

Just the idea that they haven't won a Grammy shows you how pathetic the voting actually is (as well as some of the past winners.) In fact when I think about it, I remember the band did not go to the Grammy's in 2002 when they were nominated so I wonder if they will even go this year? Either way I think if they win, it will just be another piece of hardware in the case.

By the way, now that I think about it, didn't Jon say something to the extent that they were Tom Cruise of of the Grammy's? (Tom Cruise has never won an Oscar despite his career.)

Absolutely! I hope they don't win it. That would be just a further encouragement to play more country. Besides, what the **** category is that? Was it made up for Bon Jovi only? I mean, have you ever head of that category before? It's almost embarassing.
