That is correct. It was given out in the pre-broadcast awards.

The songs he wrote with Keith are Somebody Like You (hit #1), Whenever I Run (not a single), and You're My Better Half (currently #2 on the chart). Those are three of my favorite songs. Based on that alone, I'd be happy to have John Shanks work with Bon Jovi. However... he's also worked with SR-71, Melissa Etheridge, Pink, and Sheryl Crow. These are four more artists by whom I like most of their stuff. SR-71 opened for Bon Jovi in 2001 and they put on a great show. No one would question that they "rock."

Beyond my record collection, I did some research and found that he's also worked with Stevie Nicks, Michelle Branch, Chris Isaak, Vertical Horizon, Celine Dion, Joe Cocker, Alanis Morrisette, and Ashlee Simpson. It seems to me he's a pretty well rounded producer. I don't see any reason why he would not fit with Bon Jovi. It's not as if they're Slipknot or going for that kind of sound.

I saw John get the award at the pre telecast as my daughter and I attended the Grammy's. Seems like a nice guy- really looking forward to his work with Bon Jovi.

Thank you Becky and Val

I agree that those songs Shanks did with Keith Urban are excellent ones ... some of my favs ...though it's not about not being an extremely talented guy but more like Mr Leonard to not fit with the guys FLAVOR ... that there is not enough chemistry... I am optimistic it's goona be a great album but a good producer it's all about a good chemistry between the artists and the producer

mostof those artists have great production. I'm inclined to think it'll be pristine something along the lines of keep the faith but with loops and sequences.

would be interesting to see what steve lillywhite would do with them
