So last night, I go with my GF(Kelly) to go see Bon Jovi play at the Continental Airlines Arena in Meadowlands, NJ. The Goo Goo Dolls opened up for them... they were ok, nothing really to write about.

The first song Bon Jovi played was Bounce... that pretty much set up the tempo for the rest of the night. In one word... intensity!!!!! They were so intense all night long. They played for 2 and a half hours with no breaks.

I know that Mane Attraction has often written about his disdain for Richie Sambora's playing, MA claims that Richie totally flogs now a days. Last night, he was the exact opposite!!!! He had two Marshall Halfstacks on stage, but his lead sounded like a Custom Audio Electronics set up!!!! He had the tone of life on his leads and his rythem tones were huge and chunky!!!! His playing was perfect, great soul mixed in with shred and incredible phraising. He totally didn't hold back. He was even finger tapping and doing arpeggio sweeps!!!!! His main highlight was when he sang "I'll Be There For You"... he got a standing ovation for that... well deserved if you ask me!!!!

If you have ever been to a Bon Jovi show, you know that they play their ass's off!!!! They did nothing but that!!!!
I know there are some taps in BJ songs SWW/NJ era but I am not aware if there's any sweep at all. If someone can tell me exactly what song has appergio sweep (not rakes please) lemme know. Thanks!
