I met him at the Giants show in 2003. Yea, he was diagnosed with lung cancer the day of the infamous Hull show.

They are on again right now for those who haven't seen it...

Just watched it.
I thought they looked good.
The song sounded exactly as I expected it would.
It's not an upper of a live song.
Jon sounded better than I expected.

I have it on tape and just watched it again as it was just replayed on tv... It wasn't as bad as i initially thought but it still didn't live up to what my expectations of it would be. Now given the circumstances we know now regarding Richie's father maybe we should cut the band some slack. You have to respect them for going out and performing at a time like this. They honor their committments that's for sure. I was at the show in Albany 03/03/03 the day after Dave's dad died. They could have easily cancelled the concert but they came out and played and dedicated that night's performance to "Big Ed". Same with tonight. If Richie's dad is in such bad shape they could have easily cancelled their performance tonight. But they didn't. You've got to give the guys their props.

Exactly Lizz. The performance wasn't perfect but I'm cutting them slack. Plus, they spent a lot of time making the video and doing promo shots this weekend. I'm sure they are all psychically and emotionally exhausted.

I just saw the replay and given the circumstances they did a pretty dam good job. I actually got the shivers watching them. Jon's voice was in good shape especially holding the note where he had too. Now hearing the song from Itunes is it really Jon singing the OOH's at the end or just Ritchie?

I enjoyed it. Can't wait for AI and The Today Show.

I've only heard it on the radio, the website, and the country version and I still say it's Richie. I'd have to hear the final version to say for sure but I'd assume it's the same.

If Richie did it live, surely it's him...
