No it wasn't a big seller in Europe. It got to number 1 in the charts because all die hards bought it, but dropped as soon as the same die hards had it. And by the time this Lost Highway Tour has reached Europe, it'll be labelled differently. Bon Jovi have never toured an album that had been out for over a year, and without any recent hitsingles in the charts. They're all about promoting their stuff, something they can't do if they're really going for Lost Highway.

No it won't.

Richie said so in an interview. I don't have a source though, but he's hinted at something like this before, and said the album would be out next year. What's the point of releasing the Greatest Hits around Christmas 2008, when they just toured another album?

I bought tickets for this tour exactly because I know setlists will not be like anything they played at the Prudential. That's just what I said.

Only Gelsenkirchen so far.

This tulip "insults" are really getting old. I'm not saying Bon Jovi is playing in a pretzel shop either. So there, I owned you like 3 times in one post, and owned you about 10 times this day. When will your moment of glory appear?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
i think if i remember correctly, i read that interveiw before LH was released and they said they would not tour it. The plan was to release GH this xmas and have a new studio album out in 2008 hence the tour.

Yes, listen to Richie's These Days and have tears in your eyes.

Because of the emotion and passion Richie sings it with. He's really feeling that song, it's about him now.

Richie in an interview:

"It was like throwing a hand grenade, closing your eyes and putting your fingers in your ears. Lo and behold, it was No.1 in 16 countries around the world. I don't think it has given us a new audience. It's our fans, the country market is listening, but our fans are accepting our evolution."

**** you, Mr Sambora.

Well I believe Jon himself said that all the extra musicians were in for this whole run in a video interview Can't remember which one, and both Bobby and Kurt have said they are in for the whole run and contracts normally are for the entire run of a project , which means the whole tour.

I don't necessarily disagree that there will be a new single release push in April of some sort to gear up for the Europe run, nor that that band may not be pushing LH quite as hard by then overseas, they may well feel they have sold as much of it as they are going to there by then, who knows?? What I am saying is that just because you want them to drop the extra players, because that is what you prefer, doesn't have anything to do with the reality of it all. I just wouldn't go expecting not to see the three extra musicians on stage, that's all.

Aloha !

I'm still wondering what the whole run means. Jon has talked about touring the world before, and doing a complete run over the world, while all he meant was the USA, which is why it wouldn't surprise me if they'd mean just the North American leg.

And this doesn't really have to do anything with the extra musicians either, the general crowd won't notice them anyway, but I'm just looking at this from a business perspective. It'd make more sense to tour the Greatest Hits in Europe. Bon Jovi played Amsterdam in 2001 twice, sold 80.000 tickets and made about 1,5 million dollars just by doing those 2 shows. However, they were capable of selling so many tickets because One Wild Night was a big hit in Europe.

In 2003 All About Lovin' You had been a small hit in Europe, and they made 1 million dollars just because they sold 40.000 tickets, and the venue wasn't sold out. However, a few singles had plugged the ticket sales, which is why they were capable of selling so many tickets.

Now there aren't any singles when the tour hits Europe and when promotion starts for the tour, so it'd make more sense for them to tour the Greatest Hits. And although Jon said he doesn't want to tour the Greatest Hits; they've toured Cross Road and One Wild Night too.

Again, I'm not saying it's fault proof, but it'd make more sense. Bon Jovi has always been touring an album of which they're sure it sells shitloads, so not touring it and just releasing it around Christmas wouldn't make it the multi million seller they want their albums to be. When Jon mentioned this Greatest Hits to be released around Christmas, he knew they band was going to tour in 2008, and then they changed their plans because Lost Highway became such a big success in the USA.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I had this discussion before but those figures you gave us tell us absolutely nothing. Your implying that they actually made 1.5 million on 2 european shows. But there's no way that's pure profit.

my wife works for Bon Jovis label and says at the moment there is no plans to release a GH album.
I suggest if BJ want to sell out stadiums again they should get back in the studio and make a consistant, balls out ROCK album.
They havent made a "great" album since these days - all these albums seem to have more fillers than killers and the fans will vote with their feet - not too mention dwinderling allbum sales.
