Default Growing out of bon jovi

Im 18 and ive listened to bon jovi since i can remember, my brothers were huge fans and last year we went to see the boys in hyde park which was one hell of a show, But since then ive started drifting further away from them, listening to r.e.m, foo fighters, matchbox twenty, u2, beatles etc i glance at albums like bounce and crush and feel sad, not for me but for the band and the zombie like fans that deny bj are not a force anymore, wheres the bon jovi that got me and millions other buying there albums?, new jersey, keep the faith, these days are bon jovi albums not the utter pop record label driven tripe that is crush, bounce and tlfr!. I cant name one bj fan in or around my age, i darent tell them im a fan because i know what there reaction would be "ha ha he likes bon jovi, them big frizzy haired sell outs!", the sad fact is that the bj fanbase is built on housewives and that keeps bj seeling mediocerly. Sorry it had to be said

I used to think the critics were wrong too

There is a girl here who is 14 and is a fan. Not around your age, I know, but there are a lot of 18-20 year olds here.

There's a topic about this:

A very surprising amount of BJ fans are actually academically educated, have good jobs, are anything but housewives. There are those also, and housewifehood is nothing to snort at anyways - it's a full-time job!!!

If you don't like them anymore don't listen to their music, instead of complaining to us about it. The band doesn't produce music just to make money, they do it because they enjoy it. Personally Crush is still my favourite album, and you can try to put the albums into genres all you like, but to me they are all just Bon Jovi, no specific genre, and even if someone labels them rock or pop or whatever, doesn't bother me.

If you check out the wide range of fans just on this board fr example you may find that few of them are housewives, as many of the people here are under 30 and have good educations, maybe still studying, or have careers. The only reason so many housewives listen to Bon Jovi though is because 20 years ago they where teenagers, so they've grown with the band, but they still enjoy their music so still buy it.

If you don't like it no one is making you stay.

OK first off I don't have so many posts because I'm a "zombie fan" as you'd put it, but because this is an Internet message board that has other areas, with only a few of the many areas devoted to Bon Jovi, so I post in them to talk to friends that I have made here.

Crush is my favourite album, not just favourite Bon Jovi album, but favourite album ever. I enjoy listening to it, and just because you don't like it doesn't give you the right to insult me. I'd call you sad for posting on a Bon Jovi message board when it seems you don't like them anymore.

I don't care how successful any of their albums are, but I will continue to listen to any that I like and if they release new ones and I like them I will listen to those too.

...and I just checked, and in the 650 days since I registered I've only posted about 11 times per day, which is hardly what I'd consider sad.

Especially given that you're a moderator in addition to being an active member.
