Bon Jovi was great because Richie was IN the band! What you said is actually a paradox, something so wrong and yet, totally logical to some. Phil X is just a guy who shreds on stage, he doesn't write songs with Jon, their voices don't blend, the chemistry isn't there. Shanks has been wrecking the band for years now and should've retired long ago but now he's Jon's right-hand man instead. Does it mean "the sloppy, always drunk Sambora" was that bad and the band is better off? Once he left, Bon Jovi is no more.
I would support that. I've been following the story along, and no matter how unlikely and uneasy this could seem now, Jon and Richie in the band together could achieve much more than they do on their separate ways. And lots of fans still want to see/hear them together.

I also noticed the change in JBJ at the concert on April, 8, New Jersey. He seemed happier and more relaxed than before.

In all honesty, what d'you reckon the odds are that the ceremony might bring them together once again ?

Let's be honest: it's not like they'd get together for the sake of the fans. I'm sure that there are a lot to be discussed on a personal level. Heck, they haven't seen each other in 5 years, allegedly. And it's not like Richie will have a change of heart when it comes to intensive touring.

However, do you see a scenario where there's a truce and they decide to take it easy on the touring so it doesn't happen again ?
I can see a Bon Jovi with Richie AND Phil X. Remember when Steve Van Zandt re-joined the ESB ? Nils was there and didn't leave. I could see it happening with Bon Jovi. And hopefully they'd ditch Shanks

I don’t see Richie re-joining the band just because he’s there for the HOF. Just like we all know there’s no way in Hell Alec is rejoining the band. I think they are both there simply to represent their roles in the past. End of story.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Sambora will be back in Bon Jovi. Sooner or later but he will.

my thoughts exactly. the only 'weird' bit will be having Phil there, since he's an official member now. If Richie ever re-joins, as someone pointed out, there's no way in hell Phil would remain as a rhythm guitar player, unless we really needed the gig/money. Either he'd leave or be asked to leave.

Whoever takes the role as the second guitarist is completely irrelevant, however. It's Richie people want. Alec would not re-join, he stopped being a professional musician in 1994. He probably dwells on royalties and that's good enough for him.

Performance royalties for somebody who didn't play on the records? Or the songwriting credits he never received?

Yeah he won't be getting song writing royalties, but I'm almost certain that he had gotten or is getting some sort of money from the BJ camp that he can live without having to worry about not being able to pay his bills. Even if it's just for him not telling stories to the media.

With Bon Jovi's much more limited touring schedule (30-40 shows per year), Richie would still have some time to make music with Orianthi even if he did rejoin the band. It is for this reason that I believe there could be a slight chance at a full-time reunion. And I would actually like to see Phil X stay on as rhythm guitarist for 2 reasons: 1) He has a great stage presence and adds a great, positive energy to the shows and 2) Shanks wouldn't be on stage anymore.

I think we need to relax a little bit
It's well known that Richie wanna come back since the European leg of 2013, then it was a possible back in South America 2013, I also remember an interview for his Brazilian shows in 2016 when he said something like he would like to make a couple charity shows with BJ, and now all these interviews...

About Phil, I don't know if he would recieve another phone call with the "Hey, Richie's coming back, you did a great job, thanks a lot." that he said he received in TC tour but again he has said "My whole position in this band is based on 'The show must go on.'" But of course, there was Bobby, who didn't want to tour anymore, and there is Shanks who said "pick me, pick me, let me come" to JBJ when he needed another guitar, so basically it's a headache >_< jajaj
