Is that all the competition this year? Depeche Mode? Really?? Kate Bush and Eurythmics?

Dear whoever does this, please stop nominating LL Cool J and Radiohead. I hate Radiohead

But I digress... if the committee don't want Bon Jovi to win they won't obviously, but they didn't chose a very strong competition to justify it

Edit: And I'd rather see other groups get inducted before BJ, but not 90% of the ones they chose this year
Given the audience of R&R HOF (RS readers and similar people) I'd say Radiohead is favorite to win the public vote. They're still very relevant in 2017, whether you love them or hate them, the buzz that a new Radiohead album creates is infinitely bigger than one from Bon Jovi album.

Really curious if we an induction will be able to lure out Alec from his hiding.

I would LOVE to see the band perform with just the 5 original guys...no extra musicians, get back to basics! Don't think that will happen though.

But isn't that up to the Hall of Fame who gets inducted? If they only induct the original band it wouldn't make sense if they went up and played with Phil X and Hugh.

It's up to the hall who gets inducted, yes, but as far as who performs I believe the bands can use any lineups they choose. There was a lot of controversy over KISS getting inducted because the original 4 wouldn't perform together.

And on the flip side, Bun E. Carlos had a big falling out with Cheap Trick, but they put differences aside and performed together. I bet if Alec is on stage though, they’ll have to use a bass track. I swear he said he doesn’t play anymore.

Yeah, I remember him saying that too, but surely he could re-learn a couple of songs

Well, when Van Halen got inducted only Sammy and Mike showed up and performed. There's nothing to say that all of the people inducted have to be there, or have to perform...

True enough, everyone doesn't have to show. I think the Van Halen split is more extreme (pun) then Alec's falling out considering he came back out in 2001. I don't think a bass track will be an option, it'll be either Alec or Hugh. Or maybe both if they do a few songs?

I have faith Alec will be there and that makes me really happy.

Guns N Roses was an example. The original formation was induced, however Axl's asshole did not appear.
