The ceremony will be on HBO. Does Europe get that channel?

I too think it's pretty special when another artist inducts a band that influenced them, but Howard is in the entertainment business and has interviewed every rock artist under the sun. I think he's a good choice. And he and Jon have a long history. I bet that he will tell lots of cool personal stories from throughout the band's career.
I thought Jon explained it Best!!! He could have gotten some cool rock star to do it but they would need to read off some cue card and Jon would have to practically write his own speech...

No one sincerely knows Jon and the band better than Howard!!! Howard can write and give a sincere speech from the heart...

Perfect Choice and I get it being a fan of both and following them since inception!!

Exactly: "assume"....no one knows for sure. I've heard many different stories from people in the business that contradicts everything we've heard, but I'd get shot down here for repeating them. I have no doubt that Richie's dependency on Alcohol and/or drugs played a part BUT there IS a lot more to the story. If you think a band like Bon Jovi, who have always kept personal matters close to their chest, are suddenly going to let every detail of what happened out there, you are living on cloud cuckoo land.

Jon said that Richie has issues and one day he'll tell his story... Based on the facts, there is no doubt that it's alcohol and drug related..

I know, I heard the same interview. "issues" could mean anything...for instance..."issues with the amount of money he was getting paid", "Issues with Shanks", etc. Not saying that these are issues that I've heard about, but they could be...

What you meant was "Based on the facts that are public knowledge". Like I said, if you think all of the facts about the split are in the public domain then you're on another planet....

Can one man... common sense along with tone and delivery... Jon even said its not about money... They never had a fight or even a discussion...

Issues means issues... problems... Richie fell off the wagon and couldn't cope with the day to day schedule... Even in another interview Jon said 'Richie, you gotta go to work'

Believe what you want but Richie's a ****ing mess...

Back at ya.

I already said that I'm sure the substance abuse has something to do with it. I'm not arguing that fact with you. BUT that is not the whole story by any means.

I can't believe that people actually think after all the years of, Jon particularity, making a big deal about how the band keep all of their inner issues private, they are suddenly going to air all their dirty laundry in public, because that suits what you want to believe....

Watch this: https://youtu.be/Rg4LnFfU2Ao?t=4m30s
He says that he didn't just not show up one day "It was an amalgamation of things..." (that means lots of different things combined)
If you're gonna believe everything Jon says why not believe everything Richie says too?

Personally, I tend to believe more what I hear from people that are less bias to the situation than Jon or Richie. They are both going to have their own stories on this, and the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle...

In the podcast that is posted on another thread, Jon said Richie "went off the rails again."

Anyone who doesn't acknowledge that drugs and/or alcohol are the reason he didn't show up to work that day is in denial.

Anyone who doesn't acknowledge that drugs and/or alcohol are not the ONLY reason Richie and Bon Jovi split is in denial.

I think the crux of the problem was drink/drug related but other factors contributed to both parties going their separate ways.

I keep banging on about this but it’s a huge factor in my opinion; as Jon deteriorated vocally his reliance on the band/Richie was needed more than ever and Richie was just too unreliable. (For someone as controlling as Jon)

I’m still not convinced Richie will play live with them at the Hall of Fame induction.
