Love the Billy Joel comment, but he never got to the story as to why he was talking to Billy about Richie, as they got sidetracked!

Still so angry RD! We all know Richie should have given the band time to prepare if he was going to leave the band, and if he knew he was going I'm sure he would have. Something happened to make him just not show up one day after 30 years. We'll probably never know what. We've only heard a small part of that story...

A lot of the same stories from Jon we've heard many times. It's obvious he and Stern are good friends, so I can see why he chose him on that level.

Love the fact that he basically said screw the record company, play it! I'm sure they had an exclusive play organised somewhere. Either that or it was all just a planned skit...
No, Not mad...Just rehashing...Some people feel bad for Richie because he was soooo overworked but Howard and Robin just solidified that he was a dick for doing what he did... Jon did say that Richie had issues.. Anyway.....

So if Jon did win the Buffalo Bills bid and essentially became an owner, he would have had to quit the music business... I guess for those who want Jon to continue, you have to thank Trump!!!

Not really, Howard was just really pushing Jon to dig up the dirt on the split, but Jon wasn't having any of it.

Sure but they both were using Robin leaving Howard as an example of how wrong it was...

Maybe, yes, but the full story is out there. It's clear as day as to why Richie left and I fail to understand why people still wonder what happened. So many fans select what part they accept for truth and what other part they decide is hearsay all because said truth does not accommodate their personal beliefs towards either Jon or Richie.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Yeah, but remember when they launched the video of bad medicine and he said to Sam Kinison:

"You are in the new Bon Jovi video. That´s worst than a gay porn.".
(Howard Stern to Sam Kinison)

Well, let´s hope he changed his mind about the band.

i didnt know that...lol yet through the years howard always was a troll and a "provocative" persona...i ve listened to him many many times talking complimentary about the band through the years...

i guess it was mainly a joke,

ps. if i remember correctly during the new jersey era there was a misunderstanding between them when jon was booked from the polygram to visit a rival radio station and howard was angry with jon... maybe it was then...

Jon and Howard had a huge falling out in the late 80's... Howard called him Jon Bon Phoney (something like that) because Howard thought Jon neglected him after he became super famous... And Jon did mention that they had Ups and Downs during the interview... They really did have parallel careers and helped each other from start to date...

After listening to Jon on Howard, it's apparent that Richie left 'due to issues' and that whole story about him missing his family is a bunch of shit (when Howard told that story, Jon rolled his eyes)...

We could assume that those issues are drug related...

Plus, as other pointed, he likes the band and is naturally funny; thus will surely be able to deliver a good speech. It will be great if he is able to communicate the ****-you attitude towards Hall for ignoring Bon Jovi all these years.

However, I wish that it was P!nk. The whole point of the Hall (at least what the Hall is telling to the public) is to honor artists that influence younger generations and that has always been the knock against Bon Jovi (how little influence they've made for someone as commercially successful); however P!nk is the rare exception that was definitely inspired by Bon Jovi and is a very relative name in popular music. I'm sure many critically-acclaimed bands like U2 or Metallica has many fans among current popstars, but Bon Jovi doesn't so I wish they would've taken advantage of the one they have.
Pink is on tour. She has a show the night of the induction ceremony, so she was never an option anyway.

I too think it's pretty special when another artist inducts a band that influenced them, but Howard is in the entertainment business and has interviewed every rock artist under the sun. I think he's a good choice. And he and Jon have a long history. I bet that he will tell lots of cool personal stories from throughout the band's career.
