It wasn't the original plan but Jon wanted to make sure it was played even though he was also going to sing - it was the only time they could play it.

I thought it rocked BTW. Totally nowhere near twang, no country influence at all musically, but maybe lyrically - I couldn't quite catch them all. Put it this way, I'm not dreading the new album quite so much anymore

BTW I had a great time
I knew Jon had to leave by 8.30 ("I still gotta work tonight") but I didn't know that he wanted to take the CD with him afterwards. That was very sweet of him then I thought it was really cool to begin with that he talked so much about the new album, and that he played it.

I didn't realise it was his personal wish to have it played, and that was the only time. I somehow missed all that - suppose it was off the mic by the bar, we were way back by then

I had a great time too. I'm in the middle of writing a proper review, but have to stop for tonight. Will be probably tomorrow/Friday when I get it done now.

(Take a sneak peak at some of our photos at www.taija.fotopic.net).

For me it was quite a disappointement.Simply because they choosed the totally wrong venue. The room was way too small and too low. The room was packed. I'm glad for the people who had the chance to see Jon. I didn't. There wasn't any chance to set up a stage or something because of the low ceiling so only the people in the front could see Jon. The people who stood on the side couldn't because there also were pillars that destroyed every view. And that some people had their hands with photocameras up all the time didn't help either. The staff of the venue was totally overstrained. We had to wait at least a half an hour to order a drink at the bar, and to eat I got one tiny little piece of chicken in the size of maybe 2 Chicken McNuggets. That's it. A pal of mine collapsed and it needed 10 minutes until she could get some water. This is also something that mustn't happen.

It seems the fanclub booked the room without watching it first. The room was totally unsuitable for this.

For me this event was a real disappointement. I payed 300 Dollars for nothing.

Thanks (although my name is Laura ). Apart from the photos of Jon behind the bar, no zoom was used.

Doh, I'm sorry Laura, I had taija on the brain as that was in the photo link. The pictures really are excellent.

Yes it was really crowded in there but not that you couldn't move or anything. We stood between the bar and the stage and we got both food and drinks without waiting too long, but I agree the staff was working hard and they did a great job IMO getting everybody served with a smile on their face.
I'm not very tall but I could see Jon OK most of the time and standing by one of the pillars I could move back and forth a bit anyways.
It is a lot of money to spend on an event of any kind but thinking back at it now I definately do not regret going at all! I loved hearing the new song, even though people were talking all the time during it, the chorus had some country twang to it that was it otherwise it was a typical Jovi track I think. and what a bonus to get Jon to sing for us as well!? Never expected that one! Thank you Dave for asking him to sing!
