This and The Circle are by far the best BJ albums post 2000. If it had Nothing and Dirty Little Secret instead of WTWYA and WSYCGH or Last Cigarette it wouldve been even better. I hope THINFS is a return to this album with a few more uptempo rockers

Wasn't it that "now that Cash is dead, Dylan is the last man standing"? Wouldn't make much sense if both were still alive.

But how was DLS written during the sessions that took place without Shanks when he co-wrote it?

Either way, easily the best album the band released since 2000. And I'm glad Unbreakable isn't on it.

No.

During the Bounce tour, Jon "suddenly" got very interested in Bob Dylan. He's always been a fan of the man's lyrics, but it marked the start of his "Please take me serious as a songwriter" phase, and thus he had to go out and openly support the real songwriters, and the real performers. In interviews he started mentioning Dylan this, Dylan that, even up to the point when he was "casually" photographed in the subway in London he just so happened to have a magazine in his hands with Bob Dylan on the cover.

After the tour had ended but before the album was out and long before the song would be played live, Jon went on during a radio show and had the DJ play Last Man Standing. During the interview Jon mentioned Dylan as an inspiration, and praised the man for still performing, obviously not having seen any of the shows from Dylan in the last 20 years. But if Dylan is the way Jon wants to out, he's currently on the right path.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Bob Dylan today can barely speak.

From the 100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can't Be Wrong booklet that I'm holding in my left hand:

"Last Man Standing is an important song that'll be included on the new album. The song was influenced by Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash. And Johnny Cash had just passed away and I thought how many of the greats are still around, adns still viable, and still doing it? [...]"

OMFG
I just can´t believe that this Album is so old now. 10 Years? I got Fan with this, and it feels like yesterday when I first heared it! Where did the Time go? How could this go so fast? Shitt! Where have the last 10 years gone?!
It´s still one of my absolute favorite Albums!
