Indeed I hate it. The only songs I even bother to listen to on very small occasion is the title track and Story Of My Life. And even then, I might crack open those tunes two or three times in a year.

Novocaine seems to be a pretty even split. I guess it's more Last Cigarette that surprises me. It just seems like the kind of song that would get love here, and I don't mean that in a bad way.

Well, I think Last Cigarette is better than Wildflower or Complicated...

These would be my 5 WORST songs from HAND:

1. Complicated
2. Wildflower
3. Last Cigarette
4. Novocaine
5. Have A Nice Day

Agreed. I find both songs to be fantastic. Underrated gems of the post-2000 era.

Last Cigarette is SO over the top poppy, on the flip side I can see why it's not loved around here. Yet I still love it and would classify Novocaine as one of the shining moments of post 2000.

I am yet to come across a Jovi song that splits fans more than Novocaine. You either hate it or love it. I happen to be on the hate it side.

Off the top of my head If I Was Your Mother comes close, but Novocaine is black and white when it comes to fans liking it or not.

I'm sooo with you Brian. My favorites from HAND are:

1) Last Cigarette
2) I Am
3) I Wanna Be Loved
4) Novocaine
5) Story Of My Life

Yes, Novocaine really is a love or hate kind of thing. I DO understand itīs a very original and obviously a brave piece of songwriting by JB, yet it never had an impact on me. I wish I liked it but the truth is, itīs just not my kind of a song. And maybe it is because I donīt come from an English speaking country but I donīt seem to understand how a needle could actually run through someoneīs veins. (I think it may just be an idiomatic way of saying things in English after all?)

Otherwise, HAND has grown on me during the years. After an initial disappointment, I`ve learned to like it a lot. The title track belongs to my all-time top 10 BJ songs. I even like Who Says. I just wish Nothing had made the album. aND they could have added the original title track demo on the reissue CD.

does anybody else think a combination of the HAND demo and the song that made it on the album would have been better. For instance, keeping the acoustic breakdown after the solo

Agreed. I really like that acoustic bridge.
