A 50 year old man (who is not mentally deficient) should know better. Given his position and "fame" a sexual encounter could based on coercion and abuse of power. No matter if the girl was willing or not, if it's illegal to have sex with a minor, an older adult should be smart enough to not take the risk. Sure, she could have lied and said she was 18 and she might very well have been willing. It's not the fans' place to pass judgement. We have no idea what the details of the case are. But a judge in a court of law who has heard the details and is in the position to pass judgement apparantly has and found Obie to be the guilty party.

My only question is why has he been seen at other shows if he's supposedly still serving a sentence?

because with a sentence, the moral is safe !!! that doesn't mean he's really "guilty", but the judge can say he did his job, and respected the law.

The article obviously doesn't have the facts correct as Obie is clearly not in prison, as has been pointed out, he's been seen at shows and has also been answering questions at BJHQ on several occasions.

It's just another tabloid story that has been overly exagerated in my opinion.

Obie is one of the nicest guys you could meet and he is always so great with the fans. It's a shame he has to suffer this.

I was 15 at one time in my life....
and yes I lied to older guys about my age....
But girls today think diff. they use sex to get what they want...well they think they will get something in return....
Now I don'tknow the whole story.... But I can not see Obie jearpordizing his JOB, HIs friends, His status QUOE . for a 15 year old girl.... I believe this girl lied about her age... to maybe sleep with OBie thinking she will maybe meet the guy's.....
and when Obie didn't come thru , she told on him....
There are alot of assumptions . NO I don't know what happened....

This paper is not a tabloid and I don't think the situation has been exagerated since the judge sentenced him to serve a jail sentence. The girls mother also testified at the hearing the other day. I don't want to believe that Obie is having sex with little teenage girls and we may never know the truth but unless your around him 24 hours a day please don't act like you know what is true and what is not.
