A lot of places do them if you ring up and ask. Most shops I rang could get hold of one for me even if they didn't have one in stock at the time. As for costs - as was discussed in another post - it all depends on what you're looking for. Something just to mess around with or an effect worthy of onstage performances. The Danelectro Freespeech has its own in-built microphone which negates the need for another amplifier and mic which can prove costly (believe me, I know!
). I don't know what these retail at but the better units such as the Heilsound and Framptone models (both of which Richie has used) are justifiably more expensive. I have the Heilsound model and the best quote I got was from Promenade Music in Morecambe (Lancashire) for £159 but expect other outlets to quote anywhere up to £250(!) for it. I don't know that much more about the Framptone other than it is Richie's current model. What you MUST bear in mind is that both of these more expensive models require a head amp (such as Richie's Marshall Stack) which, if you don't own already, make the talk-box a VERY expensive investment - but they are f**king cool!
