The hope that they still have another album as good as Keep The Faith and These Days in them. And, Jon's ass

Long time, no posts, however, here's my answers...

What was it about this BAND that orginally drew you to the music? The first time I actually remember taking notice of Bon Jovi was the video for Bad Name. I thought it was a cool song and the band looked to be having so much fun on stage. However, they were just 1 of the many "hairbands" (i.e. Skid Row, Warrant, Cinderella, Poison, Platinum Blonde, Honeymoon Suite, etc.) that I liked at the time.

What is it that Keeps you a fan now?
They keep producing music that I like. Not every song. Not even every album (i.e. TLFR), but generally I like enough of what they put out that I keep listening. Plus, after almost 20 years, they're in my blood and they'd have to really change a lot (i.e. TLFR) to lose me as a fan.

what songs would you like to see disappear from the setlist?
Capt. Crash! I've only seen 4 concerts and 2 times I had to hear that song!

Bad Medicine/ Shout.

Generally I'd just like them to mix up the setlist more, so if you are lucky enough to catch more than 1 show on a tour, it's not the exact same predictable show you saw before.

I'd also sometime like to see Richie sing.

Marianne,

This is a great thread. Why let Seb ruin it? Just stop answering him. That's what he wants, the attention. Ignore him .

Seb does have valid point or two, so why not discussing it out with him? Oh, of course, his points/facts/opinions differ from those of yours.

Last time I checked, it didn't say "backstage" on top of this site, so all opinions are valid here.

So, is Jon not allowed to change and evolve as a human being? He must stay exactly the same, year after year?
How does that make sense?
You have completely missed the point of changing. Or, to be exact, *my* side/view of change. Change is more than welcome, if it is an improvement. Lotsa major artists use their aging/maturity/experience as strenght. For example, take a look a recent Deep Purple. Ian Gillan is growing grey and for sure misses note or two. But still he doesn't appear as old, used and chewed has-been. and he is way older than for example, Jon.

Jon's case is more like growing tired. Not putting any effort into anything, I have no clue if it because of lack of ability or lack of interest....but it is obvious that the band, mostly Jon, doesn't put up kick-a** act anymore. More like going downhill @ accelerated speed. If things are as they appear, BJ wants to cash in by other means (movies and such crap as u know) they should quit music business & stick to whatever they *want* to put effort into. Knowing that majority over here disagrees,I still say Jon appears as has-been on stage. No passion, no sharpness, no power. He just *is*.

and this is *valid* opinion, whether u like it or not.

Did I say you weren't entitled to your opinion?
Yes, that is your opinion and I respect that, however I don't happen to agree with it. It is a valid opinion to you, not to me.

Please stop bringing up Backstage. It has nothing to do with anything.

What was it about this BAND that orginally drew you to the music?

I have no idea, I remember watching a tape my brother had recorded from MTV Europe. Bon Jovi was on, it was Rock Am Ring gig. I don´t know, something just happened.

What is it that Keeps you a fan now?

Hope. And the next album is going to be big for me. Because if it´s the same as couple of its predecessors I´m going to have to think why am I fan of this band.

What songs would you like to see disappear from the setlist?

Bad Name, Bad Medicine, Sleep When I´m Dead, Everyday, Bounce etc. I´d like to see a completely new kind of set list.

What was it about this BAND that orginally drew you to the music?

I became a fan when I heard Always in 1994. This song just drove me mad then! I started buying records and understood that there was nothing better than Bon Jovi for me

What is it that Keeps you a fan now?

The music I'ld say...Actually BJ is the only one band I can listen for hours and hours without getting annoyed or tired

What songs would you like to see disappear from the setlist?

I'll Sleep When I'm Dead!!! I'm also kinda tired of Bad Medicine, Prayer and Bad Name but I can't imagine a show without these songs

Funny how it's always the backstagers trying to start fights around here. Even in one of their threads...

What was it about this BAND that orginally drew you to the music?

The music. The songs. The band. Slippery and New Jersey are two of the best albums of the 80's.

What is it that Keeps you a fan now?

Slippery, NJ and KTF. Plus some of the songs on the box set. Live shows have been boring after the TD-tour, the records mediocre and the attitude generally bad. Bon Jovi is a money making machine, it used to be a tool for the guys to get around.

What songs would you like to see disappear from the setlist?
Bad Medicine, Shout, ISWID, Captain Crash, Misunderstood... there are too many worn out songs in there.

Ice

I am looking for some VALID opinions here, out of sheer curiosity.
So here we go:
What was it about this BAND that orginally drew you to the music?
I´m a fan of Bon Jovi since I listened to Slippery the first time back in the mid 80s. I´d loved the songs and the positive energy of the songs, the voice of Jon and the guitar sound.

I still love the old songs. And I like some of the new songs too.
But the live shows keeps me a fan.
They are different from the shows I saw back in the 80s and early 90s - but it´s still great to see and hear Bon Jovi live. Great energy and high quality shows!

"I´ll sleep when I´m dead" - I know Jon or the band loves that song - but I still don´t like it. I hope I´ll never hear any TLFR version on a live show.
