Originally, it was that my two best friends teased me because I didn't know "Bad Name." When I heard it, I thought it was the coolest song ever. My parents wouldn't let me buy any cassettes at that time, but every time I had a new "favorite" song, it was a Bon Jovi song. I enjoyed Jon's voice and the catchy lyrics and the music. Listening to their songs made me happy.

They consistently produce music I enjoy. I don't love EVERY song on every CD, but I don't love every song on every CD by any other artist either. I enjoy that they don't keep rewriting the same songs. I like that not everything sounds the same. I LOVE Jon's voice and the variety of styles he can sing. I like many different kinds of music and get bored with acts that sound the same on everything. They write good lyrics and stories that I can personally relate to or, at least, empathize with. Their songs make me feel something. I love that there is a piano base in their songs. It gives them a more full sound than some of their peers had. I like that they do try new things and grow. Their CDs never bore me.

Bad Name. I HATE this song live. I remember the first time I heard a live version of this song was on the radio New Year's Eve 1988 and I thought then, "They're not very good live." It was the first "live" Bon Jovi I ever heard and it totally misrepresented how great they really are live. The song sounded terrible live in the 80's and it hasn't improved. It's one of the few that sounds better on the studio recording. I would not shed a tear if I didn't hear Sleep/Bad Medicine/Shout ever again, nor would I miss "wanTED." The novelty of Right Side of Wrong and Joey wore off and I'd like to see them replaced with something else that would give Dave a chance to shine. I would like to hear Jon singing I'll Be There For You since it's one of my favorite songs and if Richie is going to sing, I wish he'd sing One Light Burning. I'd also like to see them switch it up and have Tico and Dave sing too. I wouldn't miss I Got the Girl or Two Story Town if I didn't hear them again either.
Becky
