I gotta agree with the last post on carrying on where he left off, "STRANGER" was a stunning album with it coming straight from the heart of Richie , you could tell by the way he carried it. he has also stated that fact in many interviews since. Over here in the UK it was discribed as a hidden treasure by Tommy Vance a DJ that was a huge influence on the rock scene, and he along with us all, felt it never got the full credit it richly deserved.
"UNDISCOVERED SOUL" whilst not quite as good as Stranger in my view was still a damm good album and if you listen to it today it still remains fresh and rewarding to listen to..............HOWEVER my biggest fear for his third album is that he collaborates with others (Nikki Lund etc etc)as has been mentioned and looses that "Personal" feeling conveyed so well with stranger. and on top of that thinking about richie's, shall we say "just does enough" performances as demonstrated on WWBTF etc etc.....I do fear that a third album may be "just enough" and not the raw emotional Richie we all know and love, SO I hope that he sits back and reflects on his emotional journey over the last year or two and knocks out some really classic Sambora, that is influenced by himself and his experiences.......

Richie's solo albums weren't commercially successful. I don't think anyone around him would be pushing him to make another album. It's all about the $.

Jon admitted he had no inspiration to write decent material when they started writing for what would become The Circle. It was only once the economic crisis happened that he had something to latch onto.

Which is a bit worrying tbh...

That was my first thought Terri. I love Richie's two solo albums and I would like to hear what he does as a solo artist 10 - 12 years down the road - especially after the past few tough years for him.

I don't necessarily want to hear him sing with Nikki Lund

I didn't dare to unfriend WTB but feel the same and the idea to get a nikki lund and richie album is making me depressed ... yes like you said what a waste ...not only it's not just him but I am sure it will be pop stuff

I hope Jon does one but I have a feeling that he will NOT do a solo album. I could be wrong but it seems like he's got other projects to consume his time for the next two years.

From what I remember Jon has even spoke about recodring a solo album during the break. Can't remember what interview, but it was not too long ago. Remember he said it probably would be more singer/songwriter acoustic record
