Default well...

I got into Bon Jovi because my older brother loves them. My brother is 7 years older than i am, so when i was a young kid growing up all i heard was bon jovi...and it's stuck. They are probably the first musical band i actually listened to and loved. So i guess i have to thank my brother's great taste in music...which has led me here today!

I think that almost all people like Bon Jovi to some extent. They are popular with guys because they have great rock songs with a good mix of ballads. They are popular to girls because they are a very good looking band, and don't take the same appearance as most heavy rock bands do (e.g. drugs, bad language, gothic).

I love reading all those stories, so I'll share mine too.

It started a bit when I was 11. My father watched videos on television sometimes and I just loved Always. So a while later, my parent went to Canada and asked if they needed to bring any cd's (cause they are so much cheaper over there) and I wanted a Bon Jovi cd. They brougth Crossroads and that was one of my favourite cd's from that day. Well, heard some song on the radio in between, but still wasn't really a fan. We (father, brother, me) went to the crushtour and then I bought some older cd's, One wilde Night got released and after buying that and all the other albums I didn't have I went on the internet. And that's when the real fan in me showed up!

I got to know Bon Jovi in the early 90's when I was
like somewhere around the age of 11 or something.
Me and some friends were to take part in what
we call a 'playbackshow', dunno if you know it in
the USA :S My best friend at that time suggested
that we'd do 'Livin on a prayer' by Bon Jovi. I
had no f*ckin idea who they were, but hey, sounds
ok. So he had the video of Prayer on tape and
showed it. I got to play Richie (yeah! I did a
great solo by the way, lol)

Somewhat later the Crossroads record came out
and that's when it really started. I think my sister
bought it. And with the These Days record and
especially seeing the concert they gave in
Wembley '95 I was sold I thought Jon was
SO cool there, lol.

And well, started collecting the albums and
here we are. LOAP still being my favourite
song, These Days my fav. record, and
Wembley '95 the ultimate concert

Kris

I am one of the newer fans too. It's a funny story how I got into Bon Jovi.
When I was 11 years old (1995) my aunt ask me if I would like to come with her to Bon Jovi in Landgraaf (Holland). I didn't want to, because I didn't know Bon Jovi that good (just the hits like always and bad name), but three years later I was very sorry about this decision. I'd always liked 'Always' and 'Lie to me'. My brother-in-law had the records Crossroads and These days and I recorded a few songs on tape. When I was 14 I fell in love with someone and when we broke up, I was so broken-hearted that I listened to Always again and again and again. I bought the albums Crossroads and These Days, and I was so impressed by especially the lyrics on These Days that I became a BJ-fan. Unfortunately the last two albums were very disappointing. I hope Bounce will be better. I'll have to wait 'til tomorrow, but whether I like it or not, I will buy it anyway... yeah I would feel guilty if I wouldn't buy all of their albums... it's Bon Jovi, huh!
