Wasn't aware people actually thought Tommy Lee was good. I thought he was just someone who gained the odd chuckle with "babecam" or whatever he calls it.

Look, I prefer ROCK drummers.

Tico wasn't a rockstar. He's average, you will never see a modern drummer influenced by Tico, at least not in the Hard Rock category.

By the way, I enjoy all his drumming if we talk about Bon Jovi music.

You don't play drums do you? I hear you kind of uneducated opinion every day from people who have never picked up an instrument.

I'm a modern hard rock drummer and I am influenced by Tico. How wasn't he a rockstar? he's been in the biggest band of the 80's and played to millions of fans.

BTW Ferret, Tommy Lee is a great drummer. Sadly

Tommy's a very flashy drummer when he plays live, he's very solid and great for the style motley requires, but he is very highly overrated IMO.......

Tico's as cool as it gets, he has nothing to prove to anybody and you feel that in the way he plays, at least I alwys could. He plays for the song and that's what great musicians do. He really shines live always in a great mood and never missing a beat. Also I think he set the standard for the modern ballad fills you see drummers in bands like Shinedown and Black stone cherry. Even Nickelback in some songs......

Look at all the modern Hard Rock bands: Buckcherry, The Darkness, Wolfmother, Airbourne, Black Stone Cherry, Hinder, etc.
None of their drummers were influenced by Tico Torres.

And yes, he's been in one of the biggest 80s bands. But would you say the Poison's bassist or the Bryan Adams's guitarist were "spectacular"? They weren't, just like Tico. Average.

Tico isn't bad. But he's not influential for popular bands.

Yes, they had their debut album in 2003 if I'm not wrong.

Anyway, forget it. Bon Jovi is my favorite band, so I like Tico. I like his drumming, but I don't think he's one of the best drummers of all time.

Apart from being the coolest guy in the world, the guy can PLAY, but like alot of people have said, Bon Jovi's style rarely requires it. But live he really shines, hes the powerhouse of the band. And songs like Dry County, i Believe, Something to Believe, KTF in all have great drumming. I remember watching the 'Evening with...'' version of With A Little Help from my friends and being mightly impressed by Tic's drumming.

He's the man.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

YES! Believe it or not, but that's my favourite song ever probably(Wonder Years ) and when Bon Jovi performed it, it strengthened my love for the song and Tico's drumming got me interested in the drums. Fantastic.
