Exactly... I am talking about songs I'd actually like to hear him sing.

Oh man, what a cabbage he looked, I though he was about 90. Sir Alex retired last week with a kick in his step and he is the same age.

On Bon Jovi, Jon's voice is a mess, but I still believe he could fix it to a degree. Anyway, his songs are harder to sing than Mick's, but that is a pointless thing to say if Jon is butchering them anyway.

I am thinking now are there many rock bands with such a range of songs in their catalog? Jon's songs really do require a lot of different singing styles (I am not a singer so nail me to the cross if I am wrong). I am speaking here when his voice what great in the 90s.

A set could throw up the hard rocking of something like Homebound Train or I Believe, then switch to a soaring ballad like Always or Living in Sin, go soulful for Diamond Ring. Anyway, I am not sure I am explaining myself properly but I hope you all get the point. It is little wonder his voice is shot, especially when he didn't look after it.

You're spot on... his voice came naturally to him, so he took it for granted, who wouldn't. In no way am I saying I don't feel for him and he could certainly get it back - not to what it was though - but it'll take some work.

Isn't that what's odd, though? He did get it back somewhat in 2008. Back then he was singing Always with relative ease and doing some incredible vocal acrobatics on Hallelujah that put every performance of Amen to shame. He clearly did a lot of work on it to recover what he lost around the HAND tour. So why has he not bothered this time around?

Axl is the same: he coasted in 2002, brought his A-Game in 2006-10 and has coasted 2011-2013. The difference is that Axl's motivations are pretty easy to figure out.

Yep, I remember seeing him twice in 2008 and thinking he'd obviously put some serious work in...

But will he put in the work is the million dollar question. I saw them in 2010 and be sounded really good. Maybe putting on a good show for your adoring fans is not enough motivation. This band is such a mess right now and the album/tour was so rushed. It's just frustrating when you know the talent is there.

Whole tour and album felt like an unnecessary cash grab. Band weren't ready, Jon's voice wasn't ready, album was rushed, tour was rushed and its all culminating in a distinctly mediocre and at times shambolic album/tour cycle.

One to be forgotten in the bands history.

Oh God, lol. Who are you on mygnr? There's no way anyone could have the time and patience to be an apologist for both Axl and Johnny B.

That said, i'm struck by one or two similarities in their respective declines, namely that they both claim to work their asses off in general yet often fail to deliver the goods that their peers do.
