It's got to be a bitch to grow up in public like that. I know I've said things that I meant at the time but wouldn't agree with now. I remember what a big fuss was made when he got married because two years earlier he'd said, "Marriage is an institution and I'm much too young to go to an institution." Fans were in an uproar over that.

In 1993 I would have told you, "I don't like country music."

It's so true though. It's easy for us to dig up direct quotes, and then say he's turned his back on a lot of things. (I'm still upset about that acting bit though)

Heck, in 198odd/9odd I was going "New Kids on the Block are bigger than the Beatles, really!!!".

I'm just curious, how does Richie not talk as much, if not more, shit than Jon? The guy just sits there and mirrors what Jon says, spouts off facts and figures, and talks about his next solo record. The guy never says anything new.

Richie is straight with you? Have we been reading/listening to/watching different interviews with R.Sambora? While I'm not going as far to say as Jon says what he does and does what he says, Richie is the absolute worst. The guy is just so far removed from the fanbase. He still thinks everyone loved TLFR. I at least give props to Jon for noticing it didn't work.

Matt's right about Richie saying the same things Jon says. They both say that they're just true to themselves and who they are. They both say things like "the two hours on stage make the other 22 hours of the day worthwhile" and then both talk about how they really hate the traveling part of touring and being away from their families. They'd both tell you that they enjoy playing the small venues as much as the big ones, but then they'd both rather be playing stadiums to the most people in the fewest number of shows possible. (And I'm not saying that as a criticism b/c I'd feel the same way!) Richie even rehashes the same joke Jon used about his daughter growing up to be the prettiest nun in the convent. They're like any other best friends--you have the same jokes, tell the same stories, use the same phrases. It's really not that hard to conclude that they share much of the same philosophy.

Oh, and I bet Richie probably thinks we all love the live album too.

Richie thinks we all love everything the band has done. Richie thinks we LOVE the talkbox and drum machines. Richies views on the fan base are so skewed.

I don't even mean Richie says the same things Jon says during seperate interviews I mean DURING, the guy will just say the same thing that Jon JUST said. I don't know why I'm being so harsh on Richie, he used to be a major factor on why I loved the band. Now I just feel he needs to get his head out of his ass and look around.

Both Jon and Richie spout a lot of shit because they have to.

David and Tico tend to be fairly honest, depending on who's interviewing them, because no one really gives a shit what they say.
