Firstly, I never thought of Bon Jovi blowing me away because of the singer's voice. Maybe I'm too young for this but, for me, what's so characteristic of his earlier singing is it was screaming. Therefore I actually like his today's voice. Don't get me wrong, I would like to attend a NJ show with screaming endings on Runaway etc., but high screaming ain't singing nor is it anywhere close to what makes a good voice.

You have me confused with Mike McRock. It isn't the high pitched screaming I'm talking about. He hasn't been much of a screamer since the days of Slippery When Wet. It's only really been since Crush that Jon's voice has been ....relatively boring. So when I say years I mean since 1997.

I think he should try the filters out.Less Tar accumulates in your throat and lungs. But you feel less of the smoke so that's bad.Is the pack in the DVD a marlboro light?? Yuck i prefer newport menthol but to each his own.

Used to smoke Marlboro lights for a while during one of the periods where i was "quitting" ....that was several years. It was originally Reds. Then I tried several lesser known but more expensive brands.

When I quit, Newports had been my brand for the last 3 years. I'd try a Marlboro now and then and it was always nasty.

Finally, can anyone answer the original question???
Probably not...unless you followed Jon around one day and took a running tab of how many times he lights up.

Does it matter how many he smokes? Smoking one cigarette a day or 10 cigarettes or a pack a day still does irreversable damage.

Stephanie
Yes it does matter. You have two smokers who begin smoking at the same time. One smokes one cigarette per day. The other smokes a pack a day. Guess which one is going to have smokers cough and which one has a good chance of never developing it? Guess which one will develop smokers teeth very quickly and which one probably won't see much of a difference from regular wear and tear?

In Los Angeles and most major cities throughout the world in general, just f**king breathing will do more damage than one cigarette per day. It's a poisonous world. You have a better chance of surviving it by building some toleracy versus trying to be pure.

I'm an ex-smoker. I smoked fairly heavily for 15 years and quit two years ago. I'm glad I did it and feel much healthier for it. So I am not promoting smoking in the least. I would rather Jon quit and preserve his voice.

I am also annoyed by people who don't understand the difference between moderation and abuse and lump it all into one category. These people tend to fall into extremes. Either they are Snow White or an ex-Abuser trying to be Snow White who doesn't understand not everyone has consumption control issues.
I had a friend die of lung cancer, who never touched a cig a day in his life.

yeah see how much character his voice will have if he gets throat cancer

That would be awful. He really should quit smoking, to preserve his voice and just so he will be heathier...then there will be one less smoker in the world
