That's because "Karma" does not feature her on the piano...it's a major appearance to a wide audience...she is going to try to fit all she can into a short time span to get Alicia Keys across. Say and think what you will..but I personally think you are quite foolish to dismiss her. I know you are thinking of Madonna's Bye Bye Baby performance....however..that would have to involve being dressed in drag and simulating sex with another woman..not the mere use of a cane or whatever that thing is called.

I'd hardly call her piano playing "schtick." It's a major part of her music and performance. She's someone to keep an eye on.

Anyway....I actually paid attention to the Awards from beginning to end...you did not. Having it on with the sound on mute while screwing around with your buds making fun of what you see on the screen does not enable you to have an informed opinion. You simply prejudged and used the occasion as an excuse to flame everything and anything.

Also, if you paid attention....the rules for nominations and winners are explained several times throughout the show. It's based on Soundscan results....translation: Sales. Which means your world is simply just you...not the real world which is purchasing the albums by these artists and propelling them into winning status. You have the AMA confused with the Grammys.

Bon Jovi was fine...but if you talk to people (those with a wide taste in music) who actually paid attention to the show and took each performance as it came...they aren't going to rank their performance as a highlight unless they are a fan. It simply pales next to...yes...Alicia Keys and Usher, Maroon 5, Rod Stewart, and Josh Groban just to name some of them. All of those performances had much more soul. Bon Jovi has plenty, but they didn't choose to display it for this occasion. I had guessed they were going to do Last Man Standing electric for the first time with Jon putting his voice into it...it would have been more poignant and attention getting over playing the overplayed corporate rock, It's My Life, which threw off Have A Nice Day.
