I was really hoping GH II would be from These Days onwards.

And then it wouldn't sell. At all.

It's my life. It has It's My Life (massive hit), Who Says You Can't Go Home (USA hit) and other various internationals hits like Have A Nice Day, This Ain't A Love Song, Thank You For Loving Me. It was going to sell. And they could release a package of Crossroad + GH2 together.

Also, words "Bon Jovi" + "Greatest Hits" sell by inertia.

I dunno about you, but if (as a casual Aerosmith fan) I saw a Greatest Hits without songs like "Sweet Emotion", "Walk This Way", "Dream On" and " and only had songs like "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing", "Cryin", and 12 other songs I never would have heard of, I wouldn't buy it. And as with many more people.

Bon Jovi is known for It's My Life, yes. But not much more. People will buy a greatest hits with Prayer, Wanted and Ill Be There For You. Take out those songs and nobody cares.

Funny as songs like One Wild Night or Thank You For Loving Me charted here as or better than the ones you mention .
And I'd buy that Aerosmith greatest hits. To me Jaded and I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing are no worse hits than Dream On or Walk This Way.

I may have just vomited. Comparing possibly the worst song Aerosmith has ever released with the likes of Dream On or Walk This Way? That's like comparing Because We Can and Livin' On A Prayer. They're just not even in the same league.

I hate to agree with Panda, but yeah, I Don't Want To Miss A Thing has no place in a conversation with Walk This Way or Dream On. Jaded on the other hand, I always thought was great.

That's obviously not true, or Greatest Hits wouldn't have sold nearly as well as it did. Anyone who liked It's My Life enough, had 11 years to buy it before the GH came out. The other songs mentioned were all released on Cross Road.

Bad Name
Bad Medicine
Blaze of Glory
Lay Your Hands On Me
Born To Be My Baby
Runaway
Keep The Faith
Always
Bed of Roses
(You Want To) Make A Memory
Have A Nice Day
Who Says You Can't Go Home

These songs aren't as immediately thought of, but when people pick up the GH and see them they say "Oh yeah, I forgot about those", and buy the record.

The Ultimate Collection always bothered me. Living in Sin was a top 10 hit, but isn't on there. Blood on Blood wasn't even a single, thus had no appeal to non die-hards. Saturday Night, Lost Highway, When We Were Beautiful weren't hits. Why only 12 songs on disc 2? Why the single version of Lay Your Hands On Me?
