I would have agreed with that a few years ago - but not anymore. Hugh is a far superior bassist. No - he doesn't have Alec's attitude but I don't think that these days Alec has Alec's old attitude.

Leave Hugh alone - he fades into the background and doesn't bother anyone and then proceeds to be rock solid on his instrument. He could do a LOT worse.

hugh definatly looked coolest on the these days tour. kinda feel sorry for the guy, it's not like he can run n jump around on stage cos some people would look up n say 'hey, he's not a real member of the band.' can't win really.

he's solid and reliable.

Makes sense though. By comparison, Jon is a shortass and hasn't he more or less said that he has a tiny wiener?

But why do people care whether or not the bassist struts around and all that anyway? Is that showpony stuff not what the front man and lead guitarist are for?

But that said, videos from the 80s (especially performances of Blood On Blood spring to mind) just show how awesome a frontline the three of them made
