Default Hush

Just listening to this demo from Crush. Personally I think it is a really good song, and although STILL not exactly the old Bon Jovi I think it would have slotted perfectly well into Crush and could have made it a much stronger album.

Jon's voice is strong on it, and challenged a little more than most of the Crush material, and the Organ work from David reminds me a lot of the R&B music of the 60s, 70s... perhaps Steve Cropper or Animals-like.

Have Jon or the band ever commented on this song at all, or why it was left out?

I reckon! Personally, I think that Ain't No Cure For Love and Stay both should have made Crush at the expense of She's A Mystery and I Got The Girl. I guess Hush is ok though.

I think the song Hush combines the qualities of the albums where it would have fitted on: either Destination Anywhere (cause if I'm not mistaken those demo's were written for the solo album?) or Crush. I don't think it would have added anything more to the Crush album though, I just think that sometimes demo versions are better cause they still have a rough edge.

i love ain't no cure for love (one of my fave songs 1990 onwards). Crush would have worked roughly along the lines of:

it's my life
just older
next 100 years
one wild night
mystery train
if i could make a living out of loving you
neurotica
ain't no cure for love
two story town

and in that sense I wouldn't want Hush or temptation on the tracklist ... nowhere near it in fact, but considering that the album is much weaker, then Hush would at least fit with that mood a little more in place of she's a mystery for example

"she says baby, i love it when she calls me baby"

Hush would have made a good album track, as would Stay, Neurotica and you cant lose at love.

Hush was originally written for another Solo-album of Jon. He sang it a few times during his solo-tour. I think the song is okay but not great. It was better live than on the CD though.

I really like that song! It is so much better than some of the song on Crush. I could never figure out why the didn't put it on the album either. Instead we get Capt. Crash????
