I never ever love albums the first go around, and BJ is the only band I listen to so youd think Id always love them straight up. For some people I guess you can love it right off, but I always take a few weeks. It wa that way with the demos, and the same with the albums. Crush I couldn't figure out for a bit, then it clicked and I like every tack on it. There isn't a track I dont like on anything from Slippery to Crush, and Bounce will be the same. Only thing I noticed first listen (Ive had 2 complete run thrus of the cd now) was that Love Me Back to Life sounded like The Distance, but it doesnt really, I just dont know them enough yet as individual songs. Love me back to Life is probably my favourite song on the album so far, its very catchy, sort of like If That's What It Takes style.

just to answer what Wanted posted, well... the first time I heard KTP, I said to myself "that's all?". Now, I like it a lot. so, don't forget that your thoughts keep changin' cause you're changin' everyday. mood is really important too.
so keep in my mind your first impression ain't necessary the good.

Have just got the album - the first 5 tracks r great!! Just listening to those at the mo. - Undivided is something special.

The rest didn't blow me away first time (except Bounce) - Hook me up is pretty good, but it needs to be loud . So I'll be listening to it a bit more the next few days to see how they grow on me.

Mood is really important: the first time I listened to it that was the only thing I wanted to do and probably I expected so much that I was a little bit disappointed. There will probably never be a ballad like Always anymore but I needed something different with more drums work (percussions and drums remind me just like a "(It's hard) letting you go" atmosphere which is good but in one song...) and some more guitar... Another thing I was surprised by was the length of the songs: not looking for a couple of 10 min tracks like DC but not two 3 min tracks. Anyway as long as they rock I won't care about the length, maybe it's just a mood they felt when they were writing down.

i'm also a bit confused by the length- a 12 track album under 50 mins?? but anyway... i think bounce is a quite good album- there are only two songs i dislike, namely you had me from hello and open all night- hopefully they'll grow on me *ggg*- i like the string attached songs best like the distance and love me back to life (mainly because they're quite similar)- imho joey is also great- probably one of the best bj songs for a long time- esp. the lyrics!
i think the album lacks a bit of creativity- the songs are great but they (bj) could've made more out of them- better soli, longer soli, more effective in- and outros...- but as i said the songs are great- and btw i love the fazer in the distance
