oooooo--LIS/Diamond Ring would be AMAZING.

I've always loved this song, ever since I first heard it twenty years ago (yikes!) I always particularly liked the lyrics and the fact that one doesn't even have to picture it being about a girl and a boy, necessarily... The gender of the protagonists is never made very clear, which to me was a cool thing. Therefore, in my mind, the song had its own special twist... (For the record, I was very pro-gay even back in my teens in the 80s)

Have to say, I was never crazy about the video! It was the fourth video to be released IIRC and I was let down by it being a story based clip. Like a true fangirl, obsessed to the hilt, I wanted to see as much of Jon as possible on the videos, lol...

Yes, that would be a very nice combo. I like your thinking.

Yeah, I agree. Nice concept, that can be relatable in so many ways, for so many different people.

LOL. Yeah. But, the parts you do see him in he looks adorable. I love the whole signing the cross thing, and his little actions for the praying, clicking, etc.

LIS is one of my favourite songs ever. Jon' s scream at the end is amazing. It's incredible, that he used to sing such high notes. Altough I'm really happy, BJ plays it this tour, the "magic" from studio version, that makes this song so beautiful, has disappeared somewhere.

Fantastic song. I think when I reviewed NJ I called it "Jon's 80s masterpiece". The lyrics are great, it's got a great atmosphere, and obviously Jon's vocals are absolutely killer. The guitar solo is absolutely piercing too

I know it's been reworked quite a considerable amount, but I really liked the version they played at Milton Keynes '06, with the military drumbeat intro. I think Jon has reworked the vocals in a way that makes them still powerful while not being nearly so throat-destroyingly high.

I'm gonna be selfish and say that from my point of view I hope they don't play it at Twickenham, if it means that they're sacrificing Always / Bed Of Roses / Make A Memory / Wild Is The Wind / Hey God / Damned for it ... because I've seen it live once, I'd much rather see all those songs

At the moment this song is like my favourite. There's just something about it, it's brilliance, I can't get enough. I'd say Wanted is probably my favourite,usually... but at the moment I've been listening to LIS even more than Wanted.

If I remember rightly, it's a fairly popular song amongst members of this board? But I reckon in general it's underrated. But maybe that's just me.

I guess my questions are this:

1. Love it? Like it? Hate it? It's okay?

2. Do they EVER play this live??

That is all.

the song is great i really like it, never been a big fan of but i love jon`s vocals here, also the solo by Richie, is a very good song IMO but maybe i would like it more i were living with a girl

AWESOME song on the album, the vocals and the power of the song are fantastic.
On live, only like the versions from New jersey tour. The ones with almost and even beyond of 10 minutes
Since then Livin' In Sin live is awful.

It's still one of the best songs in the world.

And I think I do like it better than Wanted.

Fact.

Lately I redicovered LIS. I always loved it when playing New Jersey, but in the last weeks I became more passionate about it again. Played it a lot and very loudly! Yes, the atmosphere is brilliant. A 'slow' song with such power and passion. I love the screams. I love the way it builds up after the solo without going into another full chorus. It's a special song. Not too fond of the live versions actually, they could never live up to the feel of the studio version. Wouldn't complain to hear it live once, though. Maybe it's on the new DVD!
