That's the spirit. I feel the same way, had I cared what people thought or where they ranked next to other bands, I would have dumped them before the 80's ended. I also don't hide they are my favorite band and I work with a bunch of uptight, conservative (for the most part) accountants since I'm a CPA, I could care less what they think.

Colleagues at work have always taken the piss out me being a fan. They were dumbfounded when I said I was going to three shows last year.

because the band are pretty boys and have good reputation.... well compared to a lot of rock bands ...

Im pleased I heard them on the radio before seeing their faces so I know it was the music and only the music that hooked me... but I wont say it is painful looking at Jon

it doesn;t matter.
I love the RHCP but in my book they aren't nearly on the place where BJ is.
In the general public they are a lot higher then BJ, as a matter of fact, they don't even come close to the RHCP while they should be (imo)..

Hah - you should try working with engineers if you think accountants are uptight and conservative LOL

Being my usual tactful self (ahem) I always tell my colleagues who my favorite band is - it's sure to piss them off

(But then I'm known as a troublemaker)

I politely set people straight: a little bit of "They sold twice as many albums in the 90's as they did in the 80's," if someone calls them an 80's band.

Sometimes it's just impossible and I really don't care too much what other people think anyway. I still can't convince my friend Gina (who oddly enough dated a guy named Tommy) that my CD collection is not a "shrine." LOL She's clueless. Those are JUST the officially released CDs. Most people are so fickle when it comes to their tastes in music that it's hard for them to understand a long-lasting "relationship" with a single band.

In the end, Bon Jovi is still around, still making music that's relevant in today's market, and still drawing in millions of people every time they tour. If that's not "good enough" to convince the naysayers, nothing else will.

Why hide it though? I make no secret of the fact that they are my favorite band. Like someone else said who really cares what someone else thinks?

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

He he, I'm also pretty much the rebel and troublemaker of our group. Oh man, you poor thing, engineers would be worse than lawyers. Of course, I'm also surrounded by all the Wall Streeters since I work down at World Financial Center.

just because I hate that tone they think I have to justify myself so i don't go there ... I don't hide it really i avoid the subject
why should i have to be vocal about the band i love ? would it change something ? no ... I think I am just not that type to push always further to want to have the last word .. the thing is I LOVE BON JOVI and i do know many many many other bands so i know WHY I love that band but no need to preach for them nor to try to prospect and try to convince ppl... I couldn't care less about that..; and I know that people don't listen nor try to understand other ppl 's choice the EXCERCISE is just to win or lose ..NOT MY CUP OF TEA

IS THERE a category of people who are more ok to LOVE bon jovi ?
why to be conservative has something to do with not loving bon jovi ? I am asking .... just asking ... I bet that engineers might not be that much into bon jovi but then WHY ?
