Bounce RULES!!! I think it ties for 1st place with KTF and TD. I heard it for the first time and I got chills. Its like, wow, this is what music should be!

A LONGTIME PROUD BJ FAN !!!
Is it just me that thinks this guy is a prick?

THat is absolut rubbish. We went through this before, Bon Jovi could do a jazz album and it would still come out. You don't have to go platinum to have a record deal you know! If they can't release their style of music, then how can Skid Row, Purple, Vai, e.t.c e.t.c. They didn't change, they didn't try to capture the new audiance, but the record companies didn't say "hey, you're not hip enough for us!". Bon Jovi wouldn't be as sucessful, comercially if they hadn't got the Crush road, but they'd still be touring (palying stadiums), and would still be selling a lot of records. For all the pop fans you loose, if Bon Jovi wrote an album that rocked as much as NJ then the rock crowd would buy it!!!!!!

I apreciate your point, and I don't think bad of you for liking the albums, I know a lot of people do, I really don't. But they didin't have to do them.... the band didn't depend on them. Indeed, I'd say because it's such a big movement, and because it has been recieved with a lot of mixed opinions from the fans, I'd say it's more likely to damage the future of the band, as opposed to securing it.....

You just can't compare Bounce to Slippery or NJ, and those who do are fools. If Bon Jovi still had long hair and wore purple leather spandex, I would laugh. Some 80's bands are still living in the 80's. Bon Jovi has changed their sound but in a way where it's relevent to today's music but it's still BON JOVI. That may not guarentee successful album sales (and as we can see, it didn't), but at least they stay true to themselves. In this day and age, and considering that they've been around for a long time, we can't expect them to keep pumping out hit after hit.

Also, Bon Jovi can't please everyone, and a lot of Jovi fans I know really like Bounce so it seems that they have pleased the majority of their fans. With Crush, they were able to bring in a new generation of fans but it's not happening again, only because in order to do that, you've gotta RAP on your record. Pffft. If Jon rapped, I don't even know what I would do with myself

And Bon Jovi hasn't gone completely pop with Bounce. Let's face it, if it did then it would be selling a lot more than it is now. They definately rocked harder on this album than Crush. So basically what I'm trying to say is that this poster made a good point. You can't compare Bounce to SWW... totally different eras, you might even say it was a totally different band

bon jovi wouldn't sell out stadiums- they hardly do now with that extremely bad album crush and that better (but still not good) album bounce- but believe me: i'd rather go to a bj show with 20'000 ppl instead of 50'000 if they only stick to what they are (were?): a ROCK band

I've always liked Bounce. In my opinion, it's one of Bon Jovi's best (behind KTF and TD of course).

Very well put, Maya. The band has to grow so they don't become a laughingstock to themselves. Thank God they're not still living in the 80's.
