Psshh, I never even thought of that. I guess it does make sense in the context. Apologies.

The average mood around here is so depressing now that it throws one off.

There's ways of discussing things without it turning into throwing shit at each other.

I am a moron, I mean really ****ing stupid, but I play guitar so understood, so I guess I am now intelligent because I know a little about music.

I saw a video of a chimp playing a xylophone once, repeating the same tune even after having a break. That chimp is smarter than all you Jovitalkers who had no clue what the title meant.

As others have said it is the result that is the problem. I personally love "Memory" and the fact it is in a well worn progression doesn't bother me. The fact that they strive to replicate the same song from those progressions, that's the problem. Tired rehashing it is.

Anyway, right now, the only problem with Bon Jovi is Jon and tese repeated Chord Progressions are the least of their problems.

They suffer live because of his voice. The songs sound like shit to begin with and then he tries short cuts from Mispronunciations of lyrics to strategic set-lists.

The albums have the same problem. Jon's political passion has grown so much since '05, I think he is somewhat disgusted with his prior work. He (fake) laughs at himself whenever he sees a picture of him from the 80's. So strike one is this optimistic song writing that contains no creativity. The second issue is his vocals. He can't pump out a song with passion anymore. Thank You was his last real ballad attempt and it's so flat in comparison to Always and BOR. This leads into the 3rd issue which is overproduction.

Lets now sum all this up. No money is made through albums anymore so why kill yourself making one. It's all about touring so make simple catchy music that is easy to sing and effortless. Rely heavily on your producer to cover everything up and that's what we have now. If one becomes a hit, great! If not, oh well. Jon made his mark in music through 3 decades. He has nothing left to prove anymore.

I was listening to NJ yesterday and realized that this band / Jon does not exist anymore..... I now have 2 favorite bands. Bon Jovi from '83 to '01 and Bon Jovi '02 to current. Crush ends band 1 and Bounce begins band 2.

It's like someone who loves Van Halen. Most would agree Dave was better and defines Van Halen but Sammy was still enjoyable and kept the band going strong. That's what I have now with Bon Jovi
As wonderfully insightful as that all is, could you perhaps make an attempt to stay on topic? Rather than deciding that because you have nothing to add to it, you're just going to monologue on completely unrelated stuff?

Can we get back to the subject... I really enjoy talking about this stuff, in particular Bon Joiv's balls to do it over and over again. Do you think Jon blushed when he told Phil they were playing IML, HAND, and WFTWM in the same show?

What is the point of this topic anyway? Change the title to "Bon Jovi repeats chord progressions" and it's the same thing? This is no surprise to anyone. I happened to disagree that it is a problem and I explained what I feel is.
Otherwise I don't think it's fair to judge me on what I can and cannot state as my opinion to a topic.

Ok, the title was creative and gave all the guitar players hard-ons but I'm not a musician and I'm here to discuss this band. If you want to talk about guitar chords, then move to the Non - Bon Jovi section. I'm not here for a ****ing music lesson.

If you like the thread and relate to the topic, post in it. If the topic doesn't appeal to you. don't. If it gives you an idea for a topic, post one. We're not changing the titles to fit users issues.

So this topic is for the 4 people who are intelligent enough to participate and everyone else shouldn't post in it unless it's directly related or else they will be chastised.... Great! this interesting topic should fizzle out within 24 hours. What a great way to motivate more people to post around here.

Wow what a thread Nazi.

What is chord progression anyway? I thought it was some kind of date . These intelligent posts are way too hard for us poor fans.
