Thank you, but d'oh at ME! I misread the original post, I immediately assumed we were talking about the Tom Petty cover that Jovi did!

Thief of Hearts is a better song my arse. I Won't Back Down is a fantastic song, and Johnny Cash's cover of it makes you see the song from another, more intimate, angle.

It was obvious from the first time I heard the song that it was a rip off, confirmed by the fact they covered it in the early stage of the tour.

Good call. Theif of Heats is merely filler to me. I'd love to hear Cash's cover of Won't back down, thanks for the heads up.

it's not the first time jon has "borrowed" a rhythym from one of his peers. the verse of august 7 4:15 is exactly the same as rockin in the free world by neil young. thats why jon plays the solo from 4:15 when they cover rockin in the free world live.
