It is a great pop rock song. They should be proud of it.

If Guns N' Roses had the classic lineup, they would be playing stadiums too.

Bon Jovi, just like the other acts I named, made their legacy long time ago, and that's why they are big (not because It's My Life).

Best regards,
the Sexx

Then how come Def Leppard aren't playing stadium even though they have a legacy of 2 diamond albums?

It's My Life didn't make Bon Jovi - it prolonged their time in the spotlight.

They are on that nostalgia circuit that Jovi dreads and see themselves to good for. They mostly do package tours or co-headlining tours with other 80's bands and mostly play the same set tour after tour with little changes.

I love DL though.........

I don't think they would be as successful, but I think musically they would be far better. They have been trying to recreate that hit ever since and both lyrically and musically they have taken many steps backwards compared to KTF and These Days.

It may have 'saved' them in terms of popularity, but it has 'killed' them in terms of music!

They would still be big, but not nearly the stadium monster they are today.
As for IML "killing" them in terms of music, I don't buy that. The band has always had a pop sheen to them, and looking at DA and US, I think that's the direction the band would have gone in had IML not popped. I don't think they would have followed the style of TD either. I mean, we can start by stating the obvious and say that Crush was recorded and ready for release before IML was released as a single, and the album obviously is very far from TD's style.

In my opinion you can't compare any of U2s recent hits to It's My Life, not even Beautiful Day. It's My Life is one of the biggest rock songs ever, tell one person who can't sing along to it ?

Yes, but that's because they don't have their "It's My Life".
The last great DL tour was the X tour. Album isn't great but tour was totally awesome.
