I don't think Slash or Clapton applied for the job. And, personally, I can't imagine either of them fitting in, despite their talents. Yikes.

Richie saw a star and latched on. He's said it a zillion times. They work well together and balance each other out. It's that friendship and partnership that has allowed them to stick around for so long. Jon and Richie were just meant to work together. I think those two understand each other better than just about anyone else in the world could.

if you watch old eighties videos you can see how richie and jon shaped the band

it is clear who are the dominant members of the band

Well said.

I think Jon and Richie have one of the strongest lead singer/guitarist relationships in the history of the business. They're right up there with Tyler/Perry, Jagger/Richards, Plant/Page.

Page and Plant were very rocky. Great on stage and yeah they used to compliment each other well, but all they used to do was bitch at each other and their friendship left a lot to be desired apparently. It was also like that between Roger Daltery and Pete Townsend of the Who, but it was more on and off between them.

Like Becky said, Jon and Richie were meant to work together.

Is there any better sound in music than hearing Jon and Richie harmonize together? (IBTFY, Prayer accoustic, Hard letting you go, BTBMB etc, etc, etc)

I dont think so. They were born to sing and play together

it is? WOW...I guess you have a PhD in 80s Rock music to be able to discover this. How insightful. Thank you! I mean, otherwise we would have never known who the dominant members of the band are.

I can't believe there are people that dumb. Why do you post if you don't have anything to say and if you think you have something to say than, hmm...well...

Jon and Richie were like that for quite some time. I still sometimes get the feeling that the stage show isn't all it seems. It's hard to tell. I mean, you know that the 2 of them know it makes the die hards happy to see them getting along so well.
