See, you blinded us all with those bright, shiny stars and now we can't see your valid points.

How did Jon fail as an actor? He's a very good actor in just very bad movies.

Has anybody else heard that Jon lost his singing voice? I think it has stayed the same for the past 25 years. I'm sure most all here have heard that Power Station cd and other demos (though, I could be wrong...there's a first for everything), Jon is the ONLY artist who KNEW who he was back then and how to operate his voice and his music. There was never an awkward change in the beginning of his music career learning how to manipulate his sound. I think he sounds the same NOW as he did then. I LOVE his singing voice as he is the only one who has it when so many others are just trying to immitate other artists; guess he just doesn't have a voice one can clone. (Is anybody else here with me on this?) I can't hear how he's lost his singing voice.

I'm sorry. You're right. His voice now is the the same as it has always been.

Why do you profess that he has failed as an actor? As I recall, he has had steady work (regardless of your interpretation of its worthiness), and semi-decent reviews of his performances (just as decent as many other actors). So he is not a blockbuster actor, does that mean he failed? Maybe that was never his intent. He has said more than once that the band is his job, he likes to act, but he likes the band more.

I would've said the same if they'd only offer parts for shitty movies to me as well.

Here are the FACTS:

1. Jon's songwriting has become lazy. Obviously his heart isn't in it anymore.

2. He has lost his singing voice anyway.

3. He is more obsessed about his looks than any hetrosexual male should be. (Maybe he has caught gaydom?) Seeing his blond thinning hair on CNN (the world's most trusted news source, trivia fans) yesterday was the highlight of my otherwise uneventful day.

4. His 'acting' delayed the release of the follow up to These Days by a year or two. That nearly killed the band.

5. He obviously still wants to be an actor since he continues to take roles in Z-list films even Christopher Lambert wouldn't take. And he also said so in yesterday's interview on the world's most trusted news source.

What do you reckon folks?
1. Yes, it died in 1999
2. Yes, but still wants to be the 'star', so he HAS to succeed in acting otherwise his life would be over very soon
3. that would mean: end of career
4. not nearly, it killed the band (crush, bounce, hand, tlfr, own)
5. see: 2

Eh. If Jon's acting took off in a major way and he was suddenly the next big actor starring in all these huge big-budget movies and getting all sorts of accolades, it might mean the end of Bon Jovi. But I don't think he'd give up the band for any less than absolute no-doubt-about-it success.

Yea, but Jon takes a film based on a script. What is on paper and how the movie turns out is really not on Jon. Is he an academy award winning actor, NO, but he's not a bad actor by any means.

I think the acting actually led to some pretty good music in DA. He wrote that record mostly while on the set of the Leading Man. So, I don't think acting affected the music in an adverse way at all. In fact, the movies just afforded him different material, experiences, etc. in which to write songs.

While is voice is not like it was in the early to mid nineties, I feel he still has a very good voice.
