I used to write songs a lot when I was younger, now not too much
after I write them I like to play with the tuning, for example if you put half step down from standard (what BJ does live) songs are more easy to sing of course...
in BJ case
My guitar lies bleeding is an awesome song!!! I like to play it and sing it 2 steps down, and still sounds awesome!! I do the same with Have a nice day (1 1/2 step down on this one) still sounds good!! but that’s my personal taste... (I’m not a big musician but I like to sing once in a while for fun)
if you play guitar and sing try what I said with those 2 songs and after that you tell me how it sounds for ya
