Just wanted to know what do you guys think.

My vote goes for: "They should call it a day until Richie wants to get back".

If Richie has quit Jon should do the honorable thing and retire the band. Sadly I feel the lure of $ will prevent him from doing so ..

Jon will keep the brand name 'Bon Jovi' no matter who is in the band I think. He's invested too much time and money into the brand to let it go. He owns the rights to the name, probably in a similar way Axl kept on GNR.

I don't think if band members left it would affect ticket or album sales immensely so Jon would carry on regardless - maybe with some of the diehards, but to the casual fan they probably won't care.
I'm not a huge Bruce fan, own maybe 3-4 records and have seen him twice in concert. I didn't know if the Estreet band played on those albums or not, or if they going to be at my concerts or not. And I couldn't name most of them either, except Steve.

I know Bon jovi is not a solo act like Bruce, but my point above is that to many casual fans he is.

But as to what I personally think should happen, I've said it on here before. Jon goes solo, aims for the smaller theatre sized venues or arenas, gets a new band together and/or Bobby, Lorenza etc and record new material, and play what he wants to play.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

Finish the tour, then if Richie's gone, pull the plug until if/when he wants to come back.

I don't get the "gone for good" condition and "wait until he gets back" response. If's he gone for this entire tour they should finish it and then if he's back continue, else call it quits.

The show must go on, tour in this case.

Or exactly what Crushgen said.

What I say is let's suppose Richie comes tomorrow and he says "i'm done with Bon Jovi". Should they continue as the band, releasing new albums and touring? Should they break up the band forever? Or they should say "we're done until Richie changes his mind"?

Richie can say that he left the band, but may want to come back in 5 years. That's what's this poll is about.

They should call it quits until Richie would want to return, and in the meantime do their own projects. Richie is the soul of the band imo.

Exactly, maybe arrange a goodbye live and that's all.

Bon Jovi has always been a band. His special touch is the tandem Jon Bon Jovi-Richie Sambora, his best songs are the union of the two, their live magic flowing between the two. They are a special couple, as Paul McCartney-John Lennon or Mick Jagger-Keith Richards. I do not care what think the casual fan. the reality is this, the union of the two is what makes special Bon Jovi.

Without Richie Sambora, they should break up. Forever.

I think we are going to end up with the Jon Bon Jovi & Friends touring the US once the band is done. Sadly this could be sooner than imagined, but I don't think they should carry on without Richie. Time to take stock once this tour is done and see what wounds need attention, if any. If no Richie, then Jon should go solo and come back as BJ if and when Richie wants to rejoin.
