Brilliant! Why hasn't this poll been done yet?

They should finish the dates of the tour they are obligated to and call it a day until Richie is ready to return. Bon Jovi is not Bon Jovi without Richie. Jon can perform all he wants... I'd probably go see it, but it is not a Bon Jovi show.

Sadly, we all know that someday it will all come to an end, weather Jon decides to retire the band, one leaves on their own, or someone will pass away. If Dave, Tico, or Richie decide to leave or Jon retires the band, it would be really cool to have one last tour with all the members (including Alec) & give the fans a lasting memory of the band from the beginning. I don't think it would be right for one to leave without one final farewell to all the fans. Did the fans know it would be Alec's final tour with the band or did it happen after a tour was over ( I was a young fan back then & can't remember the entire situation).

I don't think the second option will be available. At this point in the band's career, if one of them says they are leaving then that will be it. Jon will perform and make records but I bet it wouldn't be under "bon jovi".

Hugh is more of a member of bon jovi than Alec ever has. I'd be upset if he returned. He was a sloppy live bass player and the only thing he had going for him was that he looked like a rock star.

My thoughts exactly. I don't see Jon hanging it up (yet). I think he will do his own thing whether it's as JBJ and Friends or Kings of Suburbia or some other name.

I certainly hope the band breaks up if Richie is gone. There is no Bon Jovi without Richie Sambora, which is why I couldn't bring myself to see Bon Jovi live without Richie.

I hope, if the band does break up/retire that Jon goes solo. I hope he brings Dave with him.

I think if Jon, Tico, and Dave want to continue playing together they should. What they should be called is a trickier question. They're 3/4 of the band so I could understand if they toured as Bon Jovi, but it would seem a little better to tour as Jon Bon Jovi & Friends.

That's where I envy alot of the fans. While I've been a fan since the 80's, I wasn't able to see them until 2005. I missed out on all the fun & the best performances (or so it seems).

Regardless of the whole Richie situation, Jon and the band need at the very least a 2-3 year break after this tour to recharge and come up with some new original material and not keep rewriting the same songs over and over again.

As far as Richie goes, and as much as I love Richie, I don't think they should retire the band because of him. Most bands continue after founding members leave, Jon could have Phil or someone else take that slot and just keep going with no problems.
Truth be told, 80%-90% of the people that come to the shows are there for the songs and to see Jon. Most people refer to Bon Jovi as a solo artist and not as a band anyways, at least that's what I've encountered over the years.

I think Richie will be back.

Bon Jovi is one of few bands that have lasted this long and managed to maintain almost all the original members. Most bands that go on for 30 years have only 1 or 2 original members left, if even any at all!
