I've listened to Rosie several times, studio and live via bootlegs. It's not something I listen to all the time, but had there been anything there to impress me, I would have noticed by now. I've given ALL of Richie's music a solid chance. I just didn't like much of it. And, like I've said, at least I bought it which is more than most BJ fans do.

Richie s got a bluesy voice I think most songs of Richie wouldn't sound good with Richie. The only one I know is of course Rosie. I like Jons voice but anytime I hear him sing rosie I hate it. it sounds horrible while I love it from Richie. On the other side, I love Richies versions of Wanted and other Jovi songs, they sound different, sometimes I think it sounds better.

From the quality I think RIchies voice is better.

The Jon's voice is not good today...

Someone must tell him this...

Well whilst reading this thread the obvious thing that struck me is that the majority of the girls prefer Jon's voice, and the lads Richie. Seriously, read the threads and look how much the answers vary depending on sex. I suppose girls perfer "husky" voices, and Jon obviously has the edge over that one. I think Jon's voice of yesterday was better than Richies, but now I think since Jon's voice doesn't have the range anymore, does not make him a worse singer, just more limited. I for one think Richie has an amazing voice, but Jons voice does sound better for the majority of Bon Jovi songs even now.

I prefer Jons version of Rosie, Richie's is good, but somehow I think he overdoes it and kills the song silghtly.

One thing though, I prefer Jon and Richie in harmony anyday over them individually.

During first 4 or 5 tours Bon Jovi also didn't slow things down. How many full tours have Richie done so far? I'd like to see what'd happen with his voice after his several Jovi-style tours. Richie's voice has never undergone the same work as Jon's voice has. Even Richie's solo tours were small. And I'm sorry but being a harmony singer is different from being a main singer. And of course Jon is a quality singer. Only quality singer can take the load that Jon takes. About Richie I don't know. Can Richie take Jon's load?

I'm actually quite curious what would happen if we make Richie a Jon-kind frontman. You know the guy who sings 256 shows a year first then cuts them ONLY to 100 and moves around basically non-stop during all those shows. How long Richie's voice would be able to take it?

I'm sure Jon can deliver 100% when it is necessary. With all the high notes and everything. Remember Here comes the sun from VH1 Awards? That was absolutely flawless. But we should remember that Jovi's goal is longevity now. Jon really has to pace himself to be able to continue for 20 more years.

As for Richie's songs I really don't see Jon singing them in real life. They are too different from Jon's style.

I've listened to both of thier screams and find them drastically different. It's kinda hard to demonstrate in writing but Jon's screams kinda sound like this: "YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAA!" While Richie's sound more like this: "RRRRAAAAAAAAAAUUUUU!"

I guess I didn't state my opinion when I started this thread, so I'll say it now. I don't think I could imagine Jon singing Richie's songs. He probably could do them, it's just that I can't picture him doing them. As for Rosie, I like both versions, but Richie's has a slight edge over Jon's. If someone could mix the two so that Richie had the first verse and Jon had the second, that could be really cool.
