Lol @ Tom, I think that won't help I like all the 2001 versions of that song.
you seen Giants 89 or Chile 1990 of it?
Nope I didn't saw them on video, but I got those on audio. Not that good unfortunately.

ahh - well you have to see the video... or just listen to the lakeland version from the bed of roses single for a good version (though best ones have all the screams with the band crashing in)

I'll Be There For You is one of my most favorite songs ever!It doesn't matter if it's an old version or a newer version, I think Jon's voice still delivers with this one. I just melt at that scream!! I do have to say I like it better when Jon sings it compared to when Richie does. Don't get me wrong, Richie still does a great job, but it's just not the same. Anyways...I just love this song!!!!!

what annoys me is whenever a BJ song goes into a solo the crowd screams and you can never hear what richie actually plays until you get the bootleg

and even then the quality is poor

Yes, I have the one from Chile '90 and it is the worst one I have heard. The scream is off, the band is plain off on that version. I am not insulting you Letitrock, so don't jump all over me, ha, just my opinion. I am in a band and I am cursed, because all I do is listen for tightness and little screwups. I HATE it, but that version was off bad!

when jon sings IBTFY these days it doesn't sound that good, but now richie sings it and I think its great!
the song fits his voice very good.

I have a version from 88 or 89 and it's very good, so I would say that IBTFY was better during NJ - tour and keep the faith tour (I have a version from keep the faith tour as well...).

the song is definitly one of my favourite live songs, I've never heard it but I'll hope I will someday (at a concert...)!

IBTFY is one of my favorite songs ever, so I'm pretty much happy any time I hear it. ALthough, when Richie sang it in Tampa this year, he did mess up the words. At first, I thought I was singing wrong, but then when he sang the same words again, I realized it was Richie.

This is the only ballad that's in my Top 10 Jovi songs I love the studio version and I love it live... I especially love it acoustic. And I think Richie does an amazing job of singing it this tour. He has such a soulful voice and he brings a new perspective to this song I *love* how Jon sings it though!
